Listen to blood ritual on the side...while you are reading this...it helps improve the mood of this chapter...anyways...moving on...
"Do you have a strategy?" I whisper to Leo, as we hide behind the fruit stands.
"Just get the food, and get the hell out. Plus, try not to get shot."
I gulp and nod. I grab some apples, and stuff them in a sack. I hear shouts, and people running around with guns. The shoot at me, but I dodge. I steal some carrots, and a bag of flour, and run to the ship. A gunshot goes off, and I feel the bullet hit my dead leg. I don't cry out, like a little girl, falling on the ground. Instead, I keep running, not slowing down, and rush into the ship.
"Go!" I yell at Captain William. Leo scrambles up, with some cake in his hand. He looks worn, but otherwise, he is okay.
We sail off, back into the sea. I limp to Leo.
" That was fun." I say, wincing a little. I grab an apple, and chomp into it. I moaned at the taste. The stifling crunch rang in my ears and its honey sweet flesh coats my tongue in its juice.
" Mmmmmmm...this is bloody amazing." I exclaim, mouth full of the sweet, crunchy apple. Leo laughs, along with the others. We snack on apples for the rest of the night, and head off to bed.
The blood on my leg is dry. I grab a cloth, and wipe it off. Nothing is going to happen. It's just a bullet to the leg.
I lay in bed, and fall asleep.
**************************
I don't know where I am going. Something terrible is about to happen to us. All of us, we might get hurt. I don't want to die. I still have a life to live. A child to raise, maybe... A family to raise. All of that would be taken away from me.
A skull floats in the water. Red is the color of the sea. I cling onto a wooden plank. Slowly, my hands melt, and I drown into the blood bath. Everyone I love is gone. They claim it is my fault, because I didn't care to save them from conflict that is going between the different islands.
"Help!" I scream out to anyone alive. Captain William comes up towards me, a scowl on his face.
"Tie her to the masthead again boys. Teach Sparky a damn lesson, and make sure her legs get bitten off."
*********************************I wake up, and shiver. I pull the cloth that covers my body, close to my chest. I get up slowly, trying not to wake up anyone near me. I head up the hatch, and onto main deck.
The soft, golden moonlight shines on my face, and tears escape my eyes. I wipe them away. I shouldn't be crying. It was just a nightmare.
"Oi! What are you doing up here?" I turn to see captain William smoking a pipe.
"Uhh...I thought I could come up here for some fresh air..." I lied nervously, hoping that he couldn't see though my words.
"Oh well..just keep doing what you want to do..."
"You suck captain." I reply.
"I know..."
" Are you going to agree with everything I say?!" I ask
" Yep." He replies smugly.
"God! You are no help whatsoever! I'm going back to sleep," I trudge down the hatch, and back to my hammock.
"GOODNIGHT CAPTAIN!" I yell, waking everyone up.
"What's goin' on?" They all ask groggily.
"Nothing. Go back to sleep," I say cheekily.
