"You should slow down on those" Enzo said as I just downed my third glass of champagne
"Should you be here? I thought you were still recovering" I said taking another glass from the waiter
"Came to support the family and check up on you" he said taking my drink out of my hand
"I'm fine" I said taking the drink back
He always treated me like this even when we were kids, its like he couldn't help it. But I understood he just cared, but it still didn't stop it from being irritating.
"You take your medication yet" he asked me
"What do you think?" I said
"I think you don't give a shit about anyone or anything and you walk around here like your actions don't have consequences" he said
"And what do you mean by that"
"Lelani told me what you did to Shanice" he said
"What she's your new lap dog or something" I said and he smack the drink out of my hand making the crowd around us turn around. He started pushing me outside.
"What's your fucking problem" I said trying to walk back inside
"You are my fucking problem, you are slowly destroying yourself and everyone around you. Not taking you medication, getting me shot, destroying the paintings Shanice was responsible for and now your talking about your sister." he said
"So were not going to talk about how you guys are the cause of this" I said
"How are we the problem?" he asked
"Elias forced me to marry Shanice knowing I loved Amber. Shanice's big mouth got Amber killed, and you didn't even stick up for me to Elias knowing that it was wrong. And now on top of that, I find out that I have a sister who could take away birthright" I said
"I get it, I do. But that doesn't make your actions ok. And Elias wouldn't give away your leadership position to Lelani." he said
"You weren't there, you didn't see what I saw. The way my father acted around that lady Athena. I've never seen him be like that with my mother. She was his first love...I can't compete with their kid" I said
"Your overthinking this, Do you even want to change?" he asked me
"I don't know" I said honestly
"Well if your really worried about those things happening, the attitude you have now will definitely make those things happen. And if you decide you want to change, start with your wife before it's too late" he said

"Shanice is a beautiful and intelligent woman, and she's only gonna take so much of your shit. Before she finds another man to treat her the way she deserves. She is kind and has a big heart and any man would be lucky to have someone like that" he said
