Sevyn
"This is our meeting room." Cynthia pointed at the empty board room at the end of the hall. "This is where Mabel holds morning meetings and where designers can talk to their clients."
I nodded my head, looking into the spacious room with glass windows. It looked just like I had imagined it to be. A big round table in the middle of the room, about twenty chairs around it, and a wide whiteboard in the front of the room. I could see myself now, writing down my plans and wondering if my clients like them. I could project my designs for them to see too.
I was so ready to be in there.
"And this is you." I got out of my thoughts, putting my attention on my desk.
There were no cubicles instead it was an open office space. There were ten long tables, five on the left side and the other five on the right side. A pathway in between that led to the entrance of the building. At each table, there sat five people who had their own iMac they were working on. Everyone's space was clean and not crowding into other people's areas.
Unlike cubicles, there wasn't a wall divider and you didn't have any privacy. Everything was out in the open which wasn't much of a big deal. I was able to cope with it for the most part. The people who I was at the table with all looked up at me, and the girl sitting on the opposite side smiled at me.
"Each designer has their own iMac which they use to do their designs on. There's a software that Mabel recommends to make designs better and it's more efficient to use." Cynthia told me and I nodded my head.
"That'll be all. If you need anything just look for me or ask anyone else." I nodded once more. She walked off and I took it upon myself to settle in my area.
I took the note off the iMac with the username and password to it. I typed in everything, signing in to the freshly new computer. I waited as the screen loaded up and took the moment to look around the office. Like before it was loud as people talked to the folks sitting around them. It was obvious that everyone was close with one another or at least tolerated each other.
Design Gallery lacked the connection between workers and the boss. Jackie stayed in her office constantly and rarely talked to us. Tonya was the only coworker I spoke to and that friendship was sorta forced since she was a loud mouth. There was no way I was going to be able to escape her, so I just gave in.
"Fresh meat." I heard a dude say causing me to turn to my left. Looking at me was a handsome brown skin man with curly hair. He gave me a smile that reminded me of a little kid. He had a baby face too which made him even cuter.
"You know you don't look that old. Maybe I can take you out." He spoke, his voice cracking mid-sentence. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle.
He was a baby.
"Don't mind the voice crack." He continued, turning his swivel chair to face me. "I'm still a grown man."
I chuckled. "You're the youngest person in this building." A woman on the other side of the table chimed in.
I averted my attention from the boy to the woman. I could see only part of her face since she was looking at her computer. From what I saw though, she was extremely beautiful. Light skin, blonde asymmetrical lob hairstyle, butterfly tattoo on her neck, and an Adam's apple.
