It wasn't long before the group located the police and ambulances. What they didn't expect to see was an old friend, Steve began to sweat when he realised who it was. "Oh shit," Steve mumbled. Carrie opened the car door, getting out before realising who was stood there. "You've got to be joking," Carrie breathed deeply as she saw the woman who Steve had broken her heart with. "No way," Everything finally clicked in her mind. "You picked," she pointed, "Over," she pointed again. "Thank the Lord I am not you right now Steve," Robin shook her head. The girl opposite them, talking to the police, noticed the group and gave a little wave. However, it was clear she was directing the wave at only Steve and he was more than happy to wave back. The girl began to walk over to them. "Nancy Wheeler, how have you been?" Carrie asked trying her best not to sound bitter. Of course it wasn't Nancy's fault that Steve picked her, Carrie knew that but a small part of her couldn't help but feel jealous of Nancy. Even if it had been a year, it still stung and it still meant Carrie compared herself to Nancy every time she thought back. She could see the clear happiness in Nancys eyes at the sight of Steve.

It wasn't long before the group was sat in the trailer park, catching Nancy up on all of their theories while Nancy filled them in on the latest victim. "Our working theory is that he attacks with a spell or a curse," Dustin explained, "but wether he's doing the bidding of the mind flayer or just killing teens we dont know," Dustin finished. "All we know is this is something different, something new," Max joined. "Doesn't make sense," Nancy spoke. "It's only a theory," Dustin insisted. "No, Fred and Chrissy dont make sense, I mean why them?" Nancy explained her concern of the two victims. "Maybe they were both just in the wrong place, they were both at the game," Dustin shrugged. "And near the trailer park," Max added again. "We're at the trailer park," Steve pointed out. "Uh, should we maybe not be here?" Carrie asked. "There is something about this place," Nancy spoke as the group looked around, Carrie looked around noticing the one trailer with police tape around it, Eddies trailer. "Fred started acting weird as soon as he got here. He was scared, on edge, upset," Nancy explained, thinking back to earlier. "Max said Chrissy was upset too," Dustin spoke. "Yeah but not here, she was crying in the bathroom at school," Max continued. "Maybe they saw this Vecman before," Robin suggested, Dustin quickly corrected her, "VecNA,". "I dont know about you guys but if I saw some creepy, wizard monster thing I would definitely tell someone," Steve suggested. "I mean, other than the people sat here, who would believe you?" Carrie asked. The group nodded, her point made sense. "Wait, I saw Chrissy leaving Ms Kelleys office, Carrie's right, if you saw a monster the police would never believe you, so you might tell your shrink?" Max made a good point.

The group decided they needed to take action, they began to walk towards the car, all but Nancy who began to walk to her own car, away from everyone else. "Woah, woah Nance," Steve stopped her, "Where you going?" he asked. "Theres just something I want to check out first," she spluttered. "Something you wanna share with the rest of us?" Dustin questioned. "I dont want to waste your time its a real shot in the dark," Nancy explained. "Yeah, okay are you out of your mind? Going solo with this Vecna creep on the loose? No its dangerous, you need someone-" he didn't finish, just threw the car keys to Robin. "I'll stick with Nance alright," Steve walked towards her. Carrie rolled her eyes, it was deja vu. "Take the car, check out the shrink," Steve spoke to Robin. "I dont think you want me driving your car," Robin explained. "Why?" he questioned. "I dont have a licence," she explained again. "Why dont you have a licence?" he asked, getting more frustrated. "I'm poor," Robin smiled.  "I can drive," both Max and Carrie spoke in unison. "No, no way, never again, you've both driven my car on two separate occasions and its never happening again, not for Vecna, not for anyone, anyone but those two," Steve stressed. Dustin smiled and shrugged. "No," Steve shook his head. "Alright this is stupid," Robin sighed walking over to Nancy and giving Steve back the keys. "Us ladies will stick together, unless you think we need you to protect us," Robin stared at Steve, he couldn't argue with gender equality. Nancy looked at Steve a little while longer as Robin got into the car, she shrugged her shoulders apologetically. "Be careful!" Steve shouted to the pair. "You just gonna stand their and gawk," Dustin laughed, earning a 'shut up' from Steve. Everyone got in the car, accepting these were the groups they'd be stuck in. "Wipe your feet," Steve instructed Dustin. Dustin began rubbing his feet on the floor of the car. "On the outside not the inside God," Steve was clearly annoyed and stressed. Carrie sniggered at her brothers actions, finding the relationship between Steve and her brother amusing. They bickered like a married couple and it was hilarious to watch.

The group soon arrived at their destination, they were outside the school guidance councilers house, Max was going to investigate, that was if she could get into the house. That left Steve, Carrie and Dustin waiting in the car. There was a weird tension and no one wanted to be the first one to speak. They watched as Max stepped up and rang the doorbell. The door opened and after a few short seconds, Max was welcomed inside. The group let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, she's in," Steve spoke. "I'm missing collarbones, not eyes," Dustin replied. "Dustin," Carrie rolled her eyes at her brothers remark. "So, are we gonna talk about... it?" Dustin asked Steve who was clearly not listening. "Huh? Sorry talk about what?"  Steve replied. "Your temporary insanity when you practically through yourself at Nance earlier?" Dustin looked awkward, mainly because his sister was in the car with them. "That is not what happened," Steve tried to defend himself. "That absolutely happened," Carrie joined in. "Oh I'm sorry Princess I forgot you were here," Steves sarcastic tone made her blood boil. "Dont get pissy with me because you couldn't follow Nancy, guess this time you didn't have the choice and now you're stuck with me huh?" Carrie spat. "Oh wow, coming from the girl who begged to stay with someone else literally hours ago," Steve rolled his eyes. "No, you dont get to make me the hypocrite. You picked her, she picked Jonathon, get over yourself Steve," Carrie got out of the car, leaning on the back of it. "There were a lot of witnesses to see you earlier Steve," Dustin looked through the rearview mirror to see his sister. "So are you both implying I still have a thing for Nance?" Steve looked at Dustin. "Im not implying it, I'm stating it," Dustin raised his eyebrows, "It's pretty much the only logical explanation," Dustin nodded. Steve looked to the rearview window, looking at Carrie, "not the only one," he sighed, "As for Nance, I was trying to protect a friend," he nodded. "Your face is so red right now," Dustin laughed. "I'll punch you so hard your teeth will fall back out," Steve quickly spoke. "Woah, too far," Dustin face was straight. "You're right, Im sorry," Steve sat for a minute before getting out of the car to speak to Carrie.

"You're brave," she spoke as Steve leaned next to her. "I'm sorry okay, I didn't mean to snap like that," Steve attempted to smile. "It's fine, honestly I dont think you realise when you do it," she shook her head. "Do what?" Steve laughed. "When you choose Nancy over everyone," Carrie looked down at her shoes. "I mean, I think it's just been in your nature for so long it's just something you do," she laughed awkwardly. "If it makes you feel better I wish id of picked you," Steve looked at Carrie, she was still looking at the ground. "Thats only because she picked Jonathon," Carrie replied. "Technically she broke my heart way before that," Steve laughed. "My feelings were real though, I did like you, I erm do like you," Steve smiled. For the first time she looked up at him. "If you like me, you must love Nancy," Carrie shook her head laughing, "I saw you all day Steve," she looked up to see Max running out of the house. She went to get into the car but before she could Steve held her wrist stopping her. "Carrie," he breathed, "Its not like that," he released her wrist, both of them getting into the car as Max got closer. Max jumped into the back of the car joining Carrie. "Steve, drive!" she shouted. He did as he was told as they quickly sped away from the house.
