"I can help design new clothes and even help make them", Marinette suggested shyly, hoping that Adrien remembered that she is a fashion designer herself. 
"I already have a top designer, Marinette. I've given you a job as a secretary in the Gabriel company, which has been your dream hasn't it? So I suggest you be more grateful", Adrien warned.
"B-but, I'm your girlfriend Adrien!", Marinette reminded him, tears starting to form. He had changed ever since he had become owner.
"Marinette, remember, no one else knows. And people might start giving us bad reputation if they find out I gave you a job, just cause I'm your friend", Adrien explained.
"Boyfriend"
"Sorry?"
"You're my boyfriend, Adrien", Marinette said.
"Yes, my bad. Now go and get ready for the meeting with that perfume company we're going to collaborate with for the next line", Adrien instructed.
Marinette left heavy hearted. Adrien loved her, right?
"He loves me, right?", Marinette asked when she was alone in her office.
"Of course he does Marinette!", Tikki responded, "You guys are made for each other",
Marinette being the guardian, still kept the kwamis even after defeating Shadowmoth.
"I don't know sugarcube...he has been acting strange lately", Plagg chimed in.
While the two gods debated on Adrien's actions, Adrien was busy making a phone call himself.
"Yeah? Don't worry, I got her still....I almost lost her but she still believes me. I'm telling you, don't worry about. Just a few more business deals and then it will be all done. If she does start to slip, I've got a backup plan.", Adrien spoke to the person on the other end of the line. He smirked to himself. Everything was going according to plan.

"Hello, I am Ms Rider, representative for Unique Scents perfume company. I am aware you wish to collaborate with us for your new line", Ms Rider started off.
"Yes, as my secretary would've debriefed you about it, I think our new line will really work well along with your new scent that you will be releasing soon", Adrien explained.
"I see, well, before you got here, Mrs Agreste her-", 
"She's not my wife!", Adrien yelled.
Both Marinette and Ms Rider flinched.
"What I mean is, she's just a friend", Adrien corrected his tone.
"Of course, I was just under the impression she was much closer than a secretary, due to her extensive knowledge about you and your company. But back to business matters, Ms Marinette had told me much about your new line and your current success in the fashion industry. While we do not uually do this, she has very much swayed me and convinced to release our new scent under the name of the Gabriel brand", Ms Rider explained to Adrien with a smile.
"Thank you, we will send over the contract to be signed", Adrien stood up to shake Ms Rider's hand.
"You are lucky to have such a talented secretary who works in the interest to better your company", Ms Rider complimented Marinette.
"I am", Adrien smiled at his girlfriend.
Marinette could only force a smile back. 

"Adrien, why did you react that way when Ms Rider mistook me as your wife? And you even told her I'm just a friend", Marinette asked when they were back at their house.
