It had been two days since Delancey Hardy went missing and in those two days, the whole academy had been in disarray. Students whispered and talked about her disappearance and speculated about things that could actually happen. Was she kidnapped? Or did she finally decided to break a rule and did it purposefully?
Principal Hardy was devastated because when Piper had went into Delancey's room and found the note on the desk with her best friend nowhere to be found the night Delancey disappeared, she had ran out of the dorms and informed the wardens who guarded their dorm about it. That night, Principal Hardy was told that her daughter had gone missing. They have reported it to the police but of course, the officers wanted them to report back if she had gone for at least twenty-four hours. Waiting for the time before they could report again had been agonizing for both the principal and Piper as they wanted the time to pass by so quickly so they could immediately go to the police station but at the same time prayed that Delancey would come back. The second the time turned into twenty-four hours and Delancey was still not appearing, the principal practically jumped out of his chair to drive to the police station, with Piper following along.
By then, her disappearance had been spread around the whole school.
When the news reached Ashton, he had a hard time believing it because he knew Delancey would be the last person to sneak out of the school and not come back so he immediately had a feeling something had happened to her. He was worried and couldn't sleep the night he found it out when Cathy Benson told him. He was also angry the very next day when the police had went on a search at the location Delancey had scribbled on, which he didn't even know where, and couldn't find a clue that could lead to her.
He was mad at her but he was also worried at the same time.
So when he had spent the two days worrying, he certainly didn't expect to get a call from Delancey that evening.

Delancey opened her eyes and blinked, looking at her surroundings and when she realized where she was again, she wanted to cry for the hundredth time. After she had fainted, the boys, who later on turned out to be Matthias Xanders' friends, drove her away from the abandoned shops and once they had reached, they had tied her up to a chair and taped her mouth. Once she woke up, feeling dizzy and with her head throbbing in pain, she was shocked to find herself in a pretty dark room. She might as well be in an abandoned house, what with all the shattered floor and broken glasses of the windows. When her eyes adjusted to her surroundings, Matthias stepped out from the shadows.
