"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."

"I'll miss you." Gray announced. He was too many glasses in and a little more than tipsy.

"Then join me." I wink before getting up and leaving the table. Not before catching Demi's annoyed expression and the disapproval on Ronnie's face. He's the last to judge anyone for anything.

I walk at my normal pace even through I wanted to bolt to the toilet but once I did get there. There was no holding back as I threw up everything that I had eaten.

I have no clue what has been going on with my body recently but the exhaustion, dizziness and nausea are really getting out of hand. My stomach twisted and hurt like a fuckin bitch. But I've been playing it cool all night.

I'm fuckin' Ruby Thompson. I don't get sick.

After finishing off my business I exit the cubical. Rinsing off my mouth and washing my hands under the farcet.

I'm in the middle of reapply lipgloss to my lips when the restroom door opens and you can only guess who walks in scrowling like a mean old witch.

She stops right behind me with her arms crossed over her chest. I guess she was trying to look intimidating. It wasn't working. "What do you think you're doing with my boyfriend?"

"What do you mean?" I respond watching her through the mirror.

"Don't play dumb with me. I see you flirting with my boyfriend every opportunity you get. How fucking desperate are you?"

"Demi, honey, you're having this conversation with the wrong person." I chuckle. My lipgloss cap clicking close. "We are not friends. I don't owe you my loyalty but Gray is your boyfriend... If he decides to entertain other women it's between the two of you."

Demi takes a step towards me. "Stay away from my boyfriend, Ruby."

Again, I chuckled, turning so I'm facing her. I take a step towards her. "Or what, huh? What will you do about it?"

She remains silent. Shifting her weight from one leg to the other.

I roll my eyes suddenly very irritated with the girl. "I don't want your boyfriend -though I've always wondered are American jocks as good in bed as they make them to be in all those books and movies. Don't give me reason to use your boyfriend as an experiment."

With that I leave the bathroom and return to our table. A smirk dancing on my lips. Everyone is staring when I sit down. They all looked on edge, especially Gray.

"Where's Demi?" I decided to play dumb.

"The restroom. You didn't bump into each other?"

"No." I simply say still smiling as I pick up my dessert menu. I catch Ronnie's knowing glance from across the table and I wink. He only shakes his head. "What's for dessert?"

I didn't see Demi for the rest of the evening. Gray left to go look for her and that's when we decided to call it a night.

I had done everything I knew how to. Curled up in a ball rocking back and forth. Taken pain relief tablets and sleep tablets. Tried laying down on the floor. All this to no avail.

I pace my room. Which seemed to not really work but I was glad for the slight relief I could get. I wasn't on my period. I already had her less than a week and a half ago. So what the fuck is this pain?

Am I giving birth right now? Am I going to have to go on that show 'I didn't know I was pregnant?'

There is a knock on my door. I swing it open, expecting room service but it's only Gray.

"What?"

"Oh-oh someone is grouchy..." He teased walking past me and into my cabin.

"Gray, what do you want, I don't have time for your silly games."

He holds his hand to chest, mocking hurt. "I just came to deliver the room service you ordered." He brings out a hot water bottle from behind him and a bunch of other stuff I didn't order. I take the bottle from him and lay on my bed letting out a little whimper.

"Period cramps?"

"No. Just cramps... I think."

Gray just nods as if he understands. He sits down beside me. "Demi kicked me out. I need a place to stay."

"And you came to me?"

"Well it was either you or Leroy. I'm still a little drunk to lesson to one of Leroy's drunk lectures."

I chuckle. A comfortable silence washes over us. "You brought baby oil?"

"Well... I thought you had period cramps. I was gonna bribe you with a back massage to let me stay the night or for however long Demi's gonna maintains this attitude she's got going on."

"Gray, you can stay as long as you need but I need to be sure we're on the same page. I'm not trying to get with you or anything like that and I hope it's mutual."

"Definetely mutual. I know where to draw the line and I feel like we're better off as friends than anything else. Not that I thought we could be anything else- I mean you're insanely good-looking and my usual type but you know... You get what I'm saying?"

I furrow my eyebrows. "Yeah...No. Honestly just shut up because you're not making any sense."
We share a laugh. "I'll still take that massage though."
