CHAPTER THREE

                                    

                                          
           LIAM
I turn off the water and step out of the shower. The towel I always use hangs from a hook. I take it and wrap it around my waist.
Today is the first day of my last year in school, my suitcases were already packed by our maid Aila, she has been with us ever since I was born, I only needed to make a list and she took care of it.
I notice my uniform on my bed, Aila must have dropped it off while I was in the shower.
I put it on and brush my hair, running my hands through it, 
My phone dings letting me know I have a message.
I check and see it's from my girlfriend Lorraine. Lorraine and I have been friends since we were kids, we started Scarlett heights together and started dating in our second year, 
I see multiple texts from her but only read the last 3
“Are you in school yet?”
“where are you?”
“Meet me in my dorm, room 12”
I type “okay” and send 
I see another text from my best friend Anthony,
“On my way to school”
I check the time he sent it, 5 minutes ago, I hurriedly pick up my backpack and go downstairs.
The house was quiet, my parents went away on vacation, and the servants were downstairs eating breakfast.
Sally our cook sees me and brings my breakfast to the table.
“Good morning, Liam”
“morning Sally”
She places a plate of waffles and a glass of milk on the table.
“your suitcases are downstairs, in the car and Lane is waiting for you,” she says walking away.
I eat my breakfast in minutes and go out to meet Lane.
I get into the car and he drives off.
I reply to Anthony's message
“On my way, see you there”
Anthony doesn't live far from me but I rarely see him on holidays cause I'm always on vacation with my parents, for what they call "family bonding time" with no bonding involved.
The drive to school is about 3 hours, I had previously compiled a playlist for it. I put in my airports and press play.

We arrive and Lane takes my suitcases to the screening building. I send a text to Lorraine letting her know I'd arrived.
I say goodbye to Lane and leave for my hostel. I'm in Salador house again this year, Same as Lorraine. Every year we end up in the same hostel.
I was about to send same text to Anthony.
“Hey man, did you just arrive?” I look up and see him standing in front of me.
“Yeah, I was just about to text you, you in Salador house too?”
“Nah, I went to drop off my sister, I told you she'll be joining us this year”
“Oh yeah, I remember, I'll meet you in the dining hall later, I want to go sign in before it gets crowded”
“Yeah, me too, Later”
I walk to the back of the building where there's a door that leads up to the 1st floor, I knew it would be open today, for the workers in screening to take the suitcases upstairs.
I climb up the stairs while typing a text to Lorraine. I open the door and bump into someone,
“What the heck?” she screamed
She was about to fall. I grab her hands and pull her to me, she wraps her arms around my waist to steady her balance. She looks up at me and I'm met with the most striking pair of blue eyes, I've ever seen, her brown hair pulled back in a ponytail.
Her glasses were lopsided on her face, ready to fall off. I couldn't stop myself from placing it back on her nose. I let my hands touch her cheek.
“Hi” she squeaked. Her voice broke me from my trance.
“ oh hey, Uhm, sorry about that, are you okay?” I said
“ no bones broken, so yeah”
I move back letting her arms drop to her side.
I hear a beep and glance at my phone to see a text from Lorraine, I had forgotten about her.
“Uhm, I'll get going now”
“ Okay,” she replies picking up a paper from the floor.
I walk away climbing up the next flight of stairs, Lorraine's room is on the second floor. I spot her door and go in.
