With sleeves rolled up right above the elbows, hair held up by a hair claw clip, an already stained shirt and a pair of pullover's on, Nia was completely in her element. The girl was sitting on the stool in front of her easel with a naked canvas on it and ready to paint.
But today she had no clue what to paint.
She felt motivated to paint something, but even finding what to sketch was blurred this day.
Nia sighed loudly, a few curse words coming out with it. As she reattached her eyes from the canvas in front of her, she spotted Jungkook's canvas on the floor behind the easel leaning against the wall.
It made some of the fire burning inside the girl's body put out a bit and replaced it with a nice warm feeling.
It wasn't soon until her boyfriend was turning 19. Since it was July it was only a little less than two months and she decided to wait with the painting until his birthday. It would be the perfect gift.
The motivated, but rather uninspired artist put down her sketching pencil and grabbed her phone from the extra stool next to her.
Just as she grabbed it, a message notification from Haejin showed at the top of her screen.
Finally she replied
Nia rolled her eyes jokingly, hating when people didn't reply to her within seconds when she needed it.
Haejin😍: Maybe flowers... my mom wants me to make a flower painting for her, but flowers are not my strong side...
Haejin😍: And don't you dare agree with me!
Nia only got to smile a bit and click the message box before her mother burst into her room and interrupted Nia's reply to Haejin.
"Nia what do you say we go have some fun today?" The girl's mother asked eagerly. Obviously a no wasn't an answer she would accept. She had probably already planned the day, judging by her question that sounded rather like a piece of information about what the day would bring.
"Have you ever heard of knocking?"
"I don't take no as an answer Nia. It's been long since we've had a mother-daughter bonding day."
Mrs. Kim had taken the week off work as her summer break and was obviously restless and wanted to get out of the house.
Nia's mother was very extroverted and would rather go shopping 10 times in a day than sitting still on the couch. It sometimes made Nia wonder if she was really her mother. Nia would rather sit in the corner of her room in front of her easel and canvas, preferably without interruptions.
"Let's go to an amusement park. You can bring Jungkook." Mrs. Kim spoke again as Nia was quiet. It would be a lie to say that she wasn't little intimidated by her mother's sudden eagerness. But as soon as she mentioned Jungkook, it made her understand the eagerness.
