"Nat?" Rhodes saw the tears forming in her eyes. He knew they should give up and finding Clint while he was on his killing spree, but it would break her heart even more. "Please." She pleaded as one of the tear slowly rolled down her cheek. Rhodes nodded in agreement as his hologram slowly disappeared.

Natasha placed her peanut butter sandwich on the table and let out the sob she'd been holding the whole time. She felt helpless and alone. She wanted to find Clint, to tell him she would be there for him. He was the closest to a family she had left, and she couldn't even find him. The tears kept flowing and she held her feelings so much, she let them flow. Not until she felt someone's presence near her. "You okay?" She wiped her tears and sat back on her chair. "What are you doing here?" She asked with a comical smirk on her face, trying to hide how she truly felt. "I came to visit my friend." He said as he walked towards the seat in front of her. "I'm fine Steve." She said as she offered him the other half of her sandwich. Steve shook his head and gave her a smile.

They sat in silence, enjoying each other's presence. She missed him and he missed her. He placed his jacket on the third chair in her office, where he ballet shoes were sitting. "You danced today?" He asked as he gentle let the ribbon flow through his fingers. Natasha looked at him and brought her leg down from the table. "It kept me busy from all the thinking ." She said as she took another bite of the sandwich. "Is it okay if I watch once?" He asked looking at her. She hummed and nodded, "I don't see why not." She said. Before either of them could say another word, the phone rang once more. She picked it up and Rhodes appeared once more in a hologram. "Rhodes?" "Nat...Steve." He greeted. "What is it Rhodes?" She asked, afraid of what he had to say. "I got contact with him Nat." He said and instantly she smiled. Her happiness did not go unnoticed to Steve. "That's great, where is he? I'm gonna bring him home." Natasha said excitedly as she walked from behind her desk towards the hologram. "Nat..." Rhodes eyes did not meet hers. "What is it?" He smile instantly fell. Steve placed a comforting hand on her back. "Rhodes whats going on with Clint?" Steve asked. "He doesn't wanna come home." Rhodes said. "Then...then I'll talk to him. Give me his contact. Please." She pleaded. "I lost him Nat. I'm so sorry." And with that Rhodes' hologram disappeared.

Natasha felt sick to her stomach, like the walls were closing in on her, she felt like she was suffocating. She looked at Steve, at his ocean clue eyes, she was looking for peace. Instead she was met by his apologetic eyes. "Tasha." She collapsed on the ground, her knees were weak, they felt like jello. She felt weak. The sob she was holding when Steve got to her office came out. "We...we have to find him. He's...he's not safe out there. He needs me. He needs me Steve. I have...I have to find him. Please...please." She pleaded like a child deprived of freedom. Steve kneeled before her and took her face in his hands, her eyes red from the tears. He gently rubbed him thumb on her cheeks. "Natasha...sweet heart I will do everything to find him." He swore to her. She buried her face in his chest, absorbing all of his warmth. "Don't leave me please." She whispered into it. Natasha wrapped her arms around his torso, and dropped a kiss on her head. "I would not ever again. I'm so so sorry Tasha."

They has no idea how long they sat on the floor, using her office desk as a support for Steve's back. Steve had felt Natasha relax in his embrace and her breathing was relaxed and even as well. "Tasha?" He gently rubbed her back, waiting for a response. When he got nothing, he played with her red hair. He watched as the strands danced around in between in fingers. "I'm so sorry I left the compound Nat. I should've stayed here with you. I'm sorry I made you feel alone. I want you to know that I will never leave your side ever again. I would never make you feel alone anymore. You are the most important person to me and I wasn't sure how to tell so I ran away. I should've just told you. You know if Bucky was here, he would say I'm being a chicken. He would say "Steve for someone who looks so brave and strong, when it comes to woman you're still a coward." Steve laughed, remember his lost friend, a brother. He felt Natasha chuckle a bit. He looked down in horror, "how long have you been awake?" He asked. She lifted her head off his shoulder and smiled at him. "About a minute." She admitted. "How much of what I said did you hear?" He asked. "All of it." She confessed. "I think you're really brave Steve. I wouldn't stay with me either. You deserve someone so much better than me. I will do everything in my power to get them back, so you can have Sharon back." Natasha pulled the sleeves over her hands and prepared herself to stand. He instant grabbed her hands and it triggered her to look at him. "You. Are. Better. Than. Anyone. Ever. Do you hear me?" He looked at her deep green eyes. "I was a coward for walking away from you, for letting you do this all on your own. I am a coward for thinking I can just go back to my apartment, go to the support group and think that I can forget everything we went through. I tell them to move on, but I know I can't. Because moving on from what had happened means I have to move on from you. I don't want to move on from you. Not when you are the one that made me feel welcome in this new timeline I'm in, not when you are the friend that I could trust with anything and everything. I can't move on when you have gambled everything for me, I can't move on when I am so madly in love with you." Her eyes instantly found his, she studied him. "But you keep setting me up with other women, you never tried to set me up with you." He laughed. So did she. "You can't possibly love me Steve. I tried to set you up with women that are best suited for you." She said, not believing an ounce of anything Steve had said. She couldn't believe him, she knew she it was too good to be true for Steve to see her that way. Steve couldn't think of another way to prove to her what she felt. He took her face in his hand, slowly leaned in, waiting for her to pull away but she didn't. His nose was touching hers, their breaths colliding with each other. "Ste-" his lips touched hers. Her eyes fluttered closed and did his. The warmth she felt was different than the one she felt earlier.

When he pulled away from her, he looked at her face. He studied her expression. "Natasha, I am in love with you. Maybe we should move on." He said and suddenly she looked confused. "We hav exhausted all of our options. Let's find Clint, take him home and let's get a life." He offered. Natasha smiled, "you first." He laughed lightly, "no, get that life with me. After everything we have done and we have been through, don't you think we deserve it?" The thought sunk into Natasha mind. He was right they did deserve it.

Six years had gone by like a blink of an eye. They fought Thanos and won, everyone was home. Steve stood in the compound's living space and watched as Rhodes and Thor put up a photograph of Natasha and Tony. "I don't think it's straight." Rhodes said as he directed Thor to raise his side higher. Thor stepped off a bit to see from a different perspective. He tilted his head and agreed with him. Steve watched with a smile. They fought hard. They might've won the war against Thanos, but they lost people along the way. Gamora's photograph was hung in the hall way towards that living space to commemorate her. Steve inhaled deeply as he looked at the photograph of Natasha. She was beautiful and those green eyes still captured his heart.

The next thing her knew, there was a small pair of arms wrapped around his leg. He looked down and was met by the widest smile he's ever scene. "Some times I am jealous of how much she adores you." He turned around and was met by a blonde woman with an identical smile. "She is a Daddy's Girl." He said as he scooped the child his arms. He walked closer to her wrapped his free arm around her shoulder. They turned to face Rhodes and Thor, who was still arguing about the photograph. "Are they ever going to get along?" She laughed. "Mommy, uncle Thor and uncle Rhodes are funny." The child laughed, as she reached for her. "They are aren't they." Steve watched as the mother and daughter laughed at the scene before them. He gentle tucked a lose piece of hair behind her ear, "Are you ever going to let your hair be red again?" He asked. She smiled at him. "Well you know what they say, it's not good to dye your hair while pregnant so I guess the red will come on soon." She told him. He had a surprised look on his face. "Surprise daddy! Mommy said I'm going to be a big sissy." The child laughed with so much excitement. Steve mouth was wide open, not knowing what to say. "Steve? You okay?" She asked with worried eyes. "This is okay right? For us to have another one?" "Are you kidding? Of course! I'm going to be a dad again?" He laughed as the tears started to well in his eyes. He instantly kissed both of their foreheads. "Guys! I'm going to be a dad again!" He yelled out and the rest of the room's attention was on them. "Natasha and I are pregnant!" He added. Everyone hugged them and congratulated them one by one. "You still got it Capsicle." Tony laughed.
