That day
Yunho's Point of ViewI let out a sigh of relief when Bosam fell asleep. Usually, I treasure every moment I'm able to spend by her side but... man, was this a stressful experience.
I have never seen noona like that. Her eyes were nothing like the confident gaze I had known so far. Instead, they seemed completely consumed by overwhelming fear. Honestly, I'm impressed by how well she was able to keep it together. Her knee was bouncing up and down anxiously, and her eyes seemed vacant and panicked, but she was keeping a small smile on her face so as to not worry her little son. I'm not sure how much it worked, because to me it honestly looked a bit unsettling, since it didn't match her eyes, but it was still admirable how hard she was trying to keep it together for his sake.
Before we even left the dorms to head to the airport or boarded the plane, I kept trying to check on her, but being assistant manager, she was very busy with Jaehyun-hyung, making sure everything was in check, and that nothing and no one was being left behind. It was only when I was finally sitting down on my original seat that I got a response from her.
I had sent her a text asking if she was okay. "Yeah. You?" was all she answered. I pursed my lips a bit and texted back telling her I was okay before putting my phone away.
That's when Chaewon started chatting me up. I couldn't help but feel bad for her as she told me she was scared about flying, so I tried to be empathetic and help her calm down. I think it worked because she looked like she appreciated me saying what I said.
That made me feel nice. I liked being able to help. And I came prepared to help Bosam, but if she didn't need it, that was okay too. I didn't need to be a hero or anything, it's just that I promised her mom I would take care of her.
The other day, when Bosam and I had our first official date, we didn't end up going to the sushi restaurant for dinner. We talked a lot that day, and when I brought up the fact that I wanted to meet her mom again, she suggested visiting her, saying she needed to pick up Rowoon anyway.
So we decided to grab some jjajangmyeon on our way to her house and just have dinner there instead. Besides, we were about to travel the world for the tour. I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunities to go out somewhere nice and fancy while we're at it.
To be polite, I also bought a small basket of assorted fruits. Bosam thought it was too much, but I said I felt bad showing up unannounced and uninvited, and she shrugged it off.
When we got there, Mrs. Do seemed surprised to see me, but thankfully not displeased. Rowoon, however, was super happy to see us.
He came running, calling for his mom, and when he saw me, he gasped and grinned, squealing "Yunho-hyuuung!" and extending his arms up towards me, hopping up and down, eager for me to pick him up.
I chuckled and immediately set down the basket to scoop him up into my arms, giving him a gentle hug as he threw his arms around my neck and gave me a tight squeeze. I playfully made a gagging sound and let my neck go limp when he pulled back, closing my eyes and sticking out my tongue as if he had hugged me so tight he killed me. Rowoon giggled, knowing I was just goofing around with him.
"Noo, hyung, come back!" He played along with me, grabbing my face in his tiny hands. I didn't budge.
"Maybe if you say the magic word," I heard Bosam say. "Abracadabra!" Rowoon shouted without missing a beat, making me press my lips together tightly, trying not to laugh.
"...the other magic word, baby," Bosam said. "Oh! Please hyung, come back, don't die!" Rowoon said. I then opened my eyes and fixed my posture, smiling as I said "okay! Because you asked nicely."
