"Lao Tzu!!" The sound of the Monkey King's voice made the immortal sigh, as his lab doors were thrown off their hinges, and the simian in question ran into the lab, half a dozen Celestial Soldiers clinging onto him, in a vain attempt to stop the monkey.

"What happened this time?" Lao Tzu gave a sigh, motioning for the guards to leave, which the reluctantly did. "Which--"

"We ran out of Mac's elixirs, and the last one is wore off today," Wukong interrupted the god, who noted how frantic and disheveled the simian king looked, eyes wide with worry.

"I see, I will get started on a new batch immediately," The god got started on the new elixirs, grabbing various ingredients from shelves, opening drawers and grabbing tools. "Give me an hour and--"

"AN HOUR?!" Monkey King screeched, pale with fright, tail puffing up. "I don't have an hour!"

"Unless you want the potion to fail," Lao Tzu huffed, eye twitching in irritation. "I suggest that you let me work, and don't rush the process Sun Wukong."

The retired hero gritted his teeth, biting his tongue, not wanting to blurt out three of his biggest secrets to heaven itself. As far as they're concerned, Macaque is a retired and cursed general, he has no successor, and Ming doesn't exist.

'I'm so glad the kids are safe back in the city right now.'

The two, were in fact, not safe in the city. They were tied up in the bandage-like appendages of Macaque's massive shadow form, the creature having moved itself out to the northern side of the island. Ming was on the verge of crying in fear, as MK tried to free himself, the monster having taken the staff from his grip when he first tried to fight it.

Said creature rested atop one of the mountains, letting out a screech every now and again, seemingly calling for someone...or something. It hadn't hurt either of the kids, but neither were too keen on finding out, if it would change it's mind.

MK bit down on the bandage with a growl, wriggling about with an angry screech, which seemed to amuse the creature. Or did it find the teen's struggling cute?

A whimper caught the pair's attention, both turning to see now, that Ming had broke down crying. The shadow panicked, reaching out try and comfort the little monkey, only for her to sob harder.

"Let her go you jerk!" MK shouted, the creature's ear flicking, showing that it heard him, but was ignoring the teen.

Ming closed her eyes in fear as the clawed hand came closer, only to feel a falling sensation as she was dropped into it's hands, opening her eyes when she felt it rubbing it's cheek against her body. Both kids blinked in surprise, not expecting it to do...that. The monster gave soothing purrs, which were familiar to the little monkey,

"Pa-...Papa?" Ming hesitantly asked, making MK gasp when the creature--Macaque--nodded, it's rumbling purrs getting louder.

The lack of struggling from the boy, had Macaque placing MK in his claws, nuzzling both kids fondly. The little monkey giggled happily, hugging her father to the best of her abilities, which was just her clinging onto the creature's nose.

"H-how did this happen?" MK asked, giving his dad a worried look, and placing a hand on the shadow's cheek.

A sad noise came from the shadow monster's throat, and Macaque seemed to deflate a little, unable to actually talk with the duo. The watched as it placed a hand over it's right eye, the one with the large purple X, which seemed to represent a familiar scar.
