"How can you be okay with this? This is a graveyard?" Lori voices, causing Daryl to stop and turn to her. Myself also looks down in disappointment at my previous actions and behaviour.

"I don't know how I feel about this." She then mutters. Regardless Shane and TDog still usher us on to look around and gather what we can.

I walked over to my truck and pulled out my quiver and bow, deciding they would be the best weapon choice alongside my knife which is in its holster on my waist.

I closed the door and turned around seeing Daryl a few cars away. I walked over continuing to help him search. As we did we made small talk but not the awkward kind. I don't know what it was about Daryl but being by him and talking to him felt natural and easy.

"How'd you get that scar on your eye?" He asked as I stood up from looking in a glove compartment. I lean against the roof of the car before speaking.

"I forgot you weren't there my first night in camp. I was deployed to one our trading villages, someone there had sold us out to our enemy's so they planted three bombs. I got caught in the crossfire of the last one, a bit of glass found its way into my eye and yeah ...that's the short story."

I smiled before moving on to the next car Daryl followed as we began to make our way further up the highway and away from the group though TDog wasn't too far away.

"You were caught in a bomb explosion and that's the only injury you got?" Daryl said, sounding disbelief.

"Never said it was, of course I sustained other injuries just you can see the one on my face. I have a matching scar in my left rib cage." I explained as I pulled out a dog toy that I knew Skylla would like. I looked down thinking she had followed only to not see her there.

I turn and look back up the highway to see her with Carl and Sophia. "Traitor." I muttered.

"Dog ditch you?" Daryl said, still rummaging about.

"Yeah." I muttered, rejoining him. We finished looking around a few more cars before our hands were filled with a few bits and bobs. We take them up to my truck and throw it all in the back on the side before splitting. Daryl went to help TDog and I went back to rummaging glove compartments for weapons.

Not liking this ominous feeling I had since Lori called this place a graveyard and not wanting to be alone I whistled Skylla over. We walked about a few cars till I caught sight of a walker. I raise my bow with an arrow in it ready. I'm about to fire when another two followed it out.

I moved my bow following where they came from. Gasping I crouched down making my way back to the group. As I did I saw Rick. He looked just as scared as I did. Knowing he had seen the same I pointed under the cars and he nodded.

He started whisper yelling to everyone to get under the cars. I was one ahead of Sophia and patted the ground for Skylla to get under it. Knowing there wasn't enough room under there I went under the one in front of Carls next to Skyllas.

I clasped my hand over my mouth as I was suddenly very much aware of my breathing. I held my bow on my stomach and an arrow was still in it. My quiver laid next to me on the ground as I laid still knowing one slight movement could make me knock it and that the rattling noise would alert the walkers.

Footsteps shuffled past the cars as the huge group passed us. I looked over to my right to see Skylla watching Carl and Sophia. I tilted my head back to see Carl shuffle slightly and Sophia shivering. Carl and I locked eyes and I shook my head.

Looking to my left I saw Lori and Carol under the same van huddled together as Lori had her hand clasped over a worrying Carols mouth. The walkers continue to pass us as we all lay there terrified to move.

After a few minutes the last few shuffled forward as we all looked about. 'Never forget the straggler.' The voice of my old captain rings in my head as I blink tilting my head about.

'There's always one more person/thing that follows behind the group.' I mentally note as I look about to try to see if there was a walker straggling behind.

I look over in Sophia's direction just as she starts to shuffle out from under the car. My eyes widen as I see two feet approaching from the back of the car along the side she was shuffling out.

"No Sophia." I whispered, but the attempt was futile. Sophia let out a yell as she shuffled back the other direction, the walker having heard her scream crouched down and started reaching for her.

I throw my bow out from under the car and roll out before reaching under and grabbing my quiver. I stand up just in time to see two walkers going after Sophia who shuffled down the bank towards the forest. I raise my bow to shoot one the walkers but a growl next to me makes me turn and shoot a walker which had turned around at the sound of Sophia yells.

I yank out the arrow from its skull and turn back only to see Rick and Skylla running off into the forest presumably after Sophia. The rest of us run to the side of the road looking out to the trees worried for Rick, Sophia and Skylla.

Carol was crying in Lori's arms, a bloody Andrea and Dale approach from the RV, Shane and Glenn walk over from the water van and Daryl walks TDog over whose arm is cut open. Carl stood next to me with my hand on his shoulder as an attempt to reassure him but the truth was no one knew what outcome this would have. All we could do was stand there and wait.

Sighing I look at TDog and Andrea. "Come let's get you two cleaned and your arm bandaged up." I say pointing at them and then the RV. Walking into the RV Andrea went into the bathroom stepping over the dead walker to clean herself. Meanwhile I had sent Daryl to go grab my bag from the front of the truck while I cleaned TDogs wound.

I was finishing whipping it up when Daryl came in with my bag placing it next to me. I grabbed it and opened the big part of it moving stuff about. "I thought I had bandages but it seems I only have giant plasters. Will this do?" I asked, holding it up.

"Anything will do." TDog said, hissing as he tried to move his arm. I ripped open the plaster and carefully applied it over his cut being as gentle as possible to avoid making it worse or hurting TDog.

Once done I patted his shoulder and handed him a bottle of water before leaving the RV and approaching Carol and Lori who still stood near where Sophia and the others had run off.

I stopped next to them and looked out towards the forest, noticing something moving. I raised my bow to shoot when I saw the grey fur ball approaching. I lowered my bow as Skyllas jumped over the metal bar and started tugging on my sleeve.

Confused, I crouched down only for her to tug further up on my sleeve and try to pull me forward.  "Woah hey girl what wrong?" I said pushing her of me and holding her face in my hands.

Something wet under her chin made me remove my right hand and look at it. In the palm of my hand was a pool if blood. I tilt her chin up to see if she was hurt but there was no wound just blood. Following the trail, I saw the blood was dripping from the side of her mouth. Using my thumb I pull her top lip up to see her canines and gums laces in blood.

"Stay here." I said to the others who had been watching me. Standing up with my bow, Skylla and I go to jump over the metal rail when we all see Rick approaching from the forest out of breath... Sophia wasn't with him. I waited for him to approach.

"Is she back?" He asked and we shook our heads.

"But I left her with Skylla?" He then said confused as we all looked down at the bright blue eyed dog.
