🥀YOONGI🥀

Yun wasn't alone when I came back. Her best friend was comfortably sitting on the couch, sipping on her mug.

I stopped and respectfully bowed in her direction before removing my shoes.

I came back down expecting to find Hobi and confront him about not telling me the truth. Again.

But I felt my pent-up frustration deflating while Dalmi's eyes followed me as I walked from the front door to the kitchen. Judging by the sudden silence since I got in, it wasn't hard to assume that I was the subject of their conversation.

Looking discreetly over my shoulder, I confirmed that Yun's friend was indeed still looking at me. Not just looking either. She seemed to be paying attention to my every move.

Going behind the kitchen aisle, my eyebrows raised looking at Hobi sitting on the floor, hugging his knees. He gave me a side look but didn't stare straight in my direction.

I turned on my heels, meeting Yun's eyes, questioning her without words, and she answered with the tiniest shrug as if to say "Don't ask why my Angel is in hiding in my kitchen because I don't know either".

I reached up to grab a mug inside the cupboard, pressing my knee to Hobi's shoulder, pinning him against the cabinet, until he slapped my thigh to get me to stop.

Since I couldn't confront him just yet, all I could do for now was annoy him. He pushed me away a bit harder and I turned to open the refrigerator, looking for a bottle of water. Yun always had those because, according to her, the tap water tasted like copper.

"Oh, shoot! I forgot to buy more water!" She exclaimed from the couch, breaking the awkward silence.

Yun got up and grabbed her purse from the hanger near the door.

"Come on, Dalmi. We can talk on the way to the market," she said, already turning the doorknob.

"No, thank you, I'm staying here," her friend said, in monotone.

I exchanged a look with Yun, then looked back at her friend, who got her eyes fixed on me. She wasn't exactly staring me in the eyes, but I was definitely under her scrutiny.

Yun hesitated, opening and closing her mouth, seeing that her friend had her eyes on me.

"But, it would—"

"I just really want to stay here," Dalmi insisted, making a point of stretching her legs and putting her feet on the coffee table.

"O-okay," Yun stuttered. Why did I feel like I was in some sort of danger? "Then Yo- Agust can come with me." Her eyebrows scrunched together in a grim face when she almost let my real name slip.

"No, I think he wants to stay too," Dalmi intervened as I started walking toward Yun.

Dalmi cocked her head to me and sipped on her mug once more.

"Don't you?"

"I—"

"Come on, unnie," Yun said, interrupting me. Her voice sounded defeated.

Yep. They were certainly talking about me, and now I was in trouble with Yun's best friend.

"He'll be fine, love," she assured Yun, then adjusted her posture on the couch to sit up straight. "We just need to have a little talk."

What the fuck is going on?

Yun inhaled, but nothing came out of her mouth. Then she looked at me apologetically and her shoulders slumped. She mouthed I'm sorry and went out the door.
