(A/n: this chapter might be hard to understand so I'll put a summary in the comments if you need it.)
The pic at the top is me Incase you wanted to know what I look like.
•••I turn around at the sound of a voice. In the door I saw a man. As soon as I saw him, the rest of the scene disappeared. I was now in a dark void with the man being the only other thing in sight.
"Who are you?" I ask.
I try forming a cloud but nothing is working.
"Your peculiarity won't work here." Is all the man says.
"Where am I-we, where are we?" I ask cautiously stepping closer to him.
"Barron's right, you know." He says instead of answering my question, causing me to stop in my tracks.
If he's with Barron than he's dangerous, no matter how innocent and vulnerable he looks now. I examine the man further. He stood tall, a few inches higher than Enoch. He looked to possibly be in his mid 30's. He looked a lot like me, to be honest.
"You do have a power that you have yet to unlock. And that's what I'm here to help you do."
"I don't even know who you are, why would I trust you?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
"You don't know me but I know you. I've waited a long time to meet you Y/n." The man said stepping closer.
"My name is Oliver. I hope your mother has mentioned me at least once before."
No way.
"Dad?" I speak in a whisper of uncertainty.
"It's great to finally meet you." He says with a smile, hold his arms out for a hug.
I start towards him but stop, suddenly remembering what he did.
"No, I killed you. Remember? I-you killed my mom and I killed you!" I stumble back, the pain in my voice taking me by shock.
"You did kill me, I am dead, and... And I did kill your mother. But, you have to understand that that wasn't me. I was not in the right frame of mind as a Hollowghast. I wouldn't have never even thought about hurting you or your mother. After she left me, I was devastated. As upset as I was, I knew Ruby was right to take you away. I tried to leave Barron but he wasn't having it. He turned me into one of those things, forced me to work with him. After I died, I was brought here."
"Where exactly is here?"
"Welcome, Y/n, to the Shadow realm."
I could have sworn I heard the faint sound of thunder during his sentence.
"The shadow realm? Right, and I suppose you expect me to believe all of this?" I say, crossing my arms back over my chest.
"Well, my peculiarity was being able to travel through other people's shadows. I would just think of where I wanted to go and I'd appear in the shadows. The Shadow realm is where I come in between trips. When I died, I guess I didn't have a body to return to so I was stuck in the shadows."
"Call me old fashioned but I'm sucker for a little thing called proof. I'm going to assume you've been watching me for a while. Tell me something no one else knows."
"Just like your mother I see," he says with a small chuckle. "Well, let's see... Oh I got it! A few years ago, on your birthday, after bedtime you, Emma, Olive and Enoch all snuck out to the beach. When you went home, Olive said she left her bracelet so you volunteered to go get it. While you were searching, you saw a little girl sitting all alone on a log. You went and talked to her and found out that she was lost, she had just moved to the island and didn't know her way home. Because you were in the loop, you realized that this had been happening every day. And she would just sit there till daylight. You sat there with her all night till she fell asleep. That's when you carried her to town and waited till someone opened there door to see if they could see her home. Every day since then, during your daily walk, you would leave a note of directions for the little girl. Every day."
