I'm leaning against the door at the Salvatore Boarding, I haven't been here in a while. A while ago I was told that Rose had been bitten by mistake, Damon should have been bitten because he was threatening a werewolf. Classic Damon.

"Who'd have thought you'd be a nice guy?"

"Nobody Rose, nobody did," heads turned towards me.

"You should go away," Damon warned me worriedly in the hall.

"I know she can't hurt me," I walked over and sat next to them.

"Be welcome," Rose tried to smile. "The first time we saw each other, you told me I had an amazing accent. I have to sound awful now.''

I laughed at what she said. "Don't worry, you still sound nice," I leaned against Damon's shoulder and felt it pull us into her mind.

* In Rose's Mind *

The horses were grazing and it was sunny. The trees were both coniferous and deciduous everywhere. Damon and I sat on the grass, on the hill. We heard Rose behind us before she sat down Damon.

''This was my favorite place to come as a girl. How did you know? '' Rose  asked, looking relaxed.

"Word gets around," Damon said, looking at each other for a moment. "You told Elena."

"Am I dreaming?" she asked, and Damon shrugged. ''The sun is so warm. I miss this. I miss being human.''

''Humanity's not all it's cracked up to be.''

''I had friends. I had family. I mattered.''

''You still do.''

''No. But you do. You've built a life, whether you want to admit it or not. I spent 500 years just existing,'' she said with sadness in her voice.

''You didn't have a choice. You were running from Klaus.''

"Well, there's always a choice," Rose said.

I smiled at the landscape I was watching. "You know, people always have a choice just sometimes they don't want to admit, admit they weren't strong enough to make the choice they want."

Rose turned his head to me but I didn't look at her. "You talk like you know something about it."

"Yeah, I know a lot. It's not always a win,'' I looked at her.

''You know, you are ruining our perfect day with your strange philosophical babbling,'' Damon said.

"Thank you," Rose thanked out of nowhere.
