goodbye

Wanda stands in a field, full of trees, and farther out a barn with all the animals you could think of. Sheep's, cow's, pig's, and right beside there is Y/N, running after a little girl and little boy. They were playing a little game of tag, while Wanda fed the surrounding animals.

Peaking over to them, Wanda gave them a big smile. All she could've wanted, and it was finally her time to be happy. A remote, peaceful life, no more drama, no more fighting. Just her, the kids, and her love.

"Hey, I'm not as young as I used to be, easy on me." Y/N yells as the kids start to tackle and climb on her.

"Easy on mama, there's only one of her and two of you." Wanda laughs, walking over to them.

"Noooo there's two of mama's." The little boy laughs running towards Wanda, trying to push her over. Wanda laughs and joins in, letting the boy win.

After a little while, it starts to sprinkle. Wanda rushes to bring some of the cattle in the barn while Y/N holds the two small kids, taking them inside. In there they are greeted by a very vocal orange tabby. Y/N puts the two children down, who both instantly goes to the cat, who is most definitely loving all the attention he gets.

Wanda comes in shortly after, with a damp golden retriever, who shakes off a little, and sits herself in front of the fire. Y/N comes over to Wanda, giving her a kiss on her cheek, making her chuckle a little. The kids both yell 'Ewww' together. Y/N rolls her eyes and chases them. "Lets get some dry clothes and eat, moms been making her soup all day."

The children run into their rooms, laughing.

Wanda and Y/N set the table, waiting for the kids. Y/N wraps her arms around Wanda, resting her head on her shoulder. The sound of rain and the kids laughing was so peaceful to them. "I want this moment forever." Y/N says, muffled a little.

"I do too. The kids, the animals, the farm. Everything." They both share a smile, and they just sway, holding them in each others arms." It's always too good to be true, so Wanda holds the moment while she can.

...

Wanda lifts up her head from the table she's handcuffed to. Her eyes bloodshot red and puffy. She had just woken up after being interrogated for hours on end. The investigators come in, with sour faces.

"Wanda, you know what happened to them." They sat in front of her. Arms crossed, with their files poking out.

"I told you everything I know, we were in the kitchen and that's where my memory stops. I don't know what happened. Please, I need to go find them."

"No, Wanda, you know where they are. You need to tell us. We can find them."

"I don't know where they are. I don't have any memory of what happened, I told you guys, please listen to me."

"Wanda, it has been 75 hours since they went missing. You were the only one left in that house. You're the only one who can help."

"I want them back. I don't know what happened. I told you the sketched out people who Y/N worked with, I told you Yelena, I told you about sword. Why are you asking me? There are other people, I want my family back. I'm not ready to tell them goodbye." Sobbing, she lays her head back on the table. The investigators leave, not without patting her back and telling her gently that they'll find them.
