"You said she cooked it herself?"
"Yes, your Majesty."
"Goodness, she's talented..have a taste."
Reluctantly accepting the offer, they all take once of each, not being too picky and making sure they didn't eat the flavors Christa liked.
They all look at each other in astonishment before nodding towards the former Queen, "These truly are delicious..!"
While they were busy enjoying the snack you gave them, you were busy whining and complaining to Navier about having to give away the food you wanted because you wanted to please the former Queen in Navier's stead.
"Uggghhhh..it's not fair Navieerrrrr"
"Then take some from mine."
"But I made them for you, not me"
"..."
You kept contradicting any solution she tried to offer you, so she grabbed the ( favorite flavor ) tart and quickly shoved it into your mouth to keep you quiet. She rolls her eyes as you brighten up, smiling with each chew. 
"I've appointed sir Yunim's little sister as my Lady-in-waiting." The Queen changes the subject, humming as she continues to eat your self baked tart.
"Although it's just temporary." 
You nod, "If she likes you, then Captain Yu would put more trust in you."
Navier chuckles, nodding. "You still have that sharp intuition of yours."
"Of course." You grin proudly, "If you hire her, you'd have to be on guard in case you make a mistake. Would you be alright?" 
"It's easy enough for me." She's confident, "This is just the beginning of my plan, it wouldn't be good if I already struggled."
"That makes sense. I look forward to seeing your plan unfold, and remember if you ever need assistance, I'll be here beside you, just as I always have been." You place your hand on hers.
Navier's heart softens as she feels a wave of gratitude wash over her, "I'm very glad you stayed with me. I'm lucky to have met you in this lifetime."
You look at her, surprised by the sudden emotion in her voice before grinning, "I'll make sure to stay with you in our next lifetimes, no one will protect you better than me."
"Of course." You were just about to head to bed, considering the late time, but much to your surprise, Mckenna with waiting in front of your door.
"Sir Mckenna, is there something you need?" You ask the bluebird, hinting you were in a hurry to sleep and recuperate for the night.
"His Majesty is calling you to his office for a quick discussion." He smiles at you, motioning to the far end of the detached palace.
You inwardly groan, but nod, agreeing to speak with the other birdbrain in the kingdom.

"This better be important." You sigh, closing the door behind you and dragging a chair infront of the King's desk and settling yourself down.
"It is, don't worry." His playful demeanor is barely there, but he takes an effort to smile. It seems he was as exhausted as you were. You forget he actually has duties to fulfill—being the King of a nation and all that.
"I'll get straight to the point since you look pretty tired." He places his pen down, straightening his posture and looking at you in the eyes.
"I'm planning to go at war with the Eastern Empire." You choke on your spit, but he continues and doesn't give you time to process what he'd just said. "I've been planning this for a while now, and I'm sure you noticed the mana draining stones in the Empire already, so obviously it's been a plan for a long time."
You nod, sighing, "This will put Navier in a tight spot. Her family is staying in the Eastern Empire, I'm not sure how she'll feel about that."
He nods, "Yes, I'm aware she'd be hesitant, which is why I called for you."
"For my opinion?" You give him a concerned look.
"No, for a request."
"What?" 
You haven't even breathed your next breathe yet and he answers quickly and firmly, 
"Become the Emperor of the Eastern Empire."
