We were settled on the Hogwarts Express, on our way to my house, or more accurately, my father's house.

Thanksgiving was approaching, scheduled for this upcoming Friday, and today was Thursday. The plan was to spend the entire weekend at my place, but perhaps I can't stand being in the same house as Malfoy for an extended period.

Yes, Malfoy. He was also coming with us this time. I had mixed emotions about this. First of all, I didn't particularly like him, and secondly, he was a pain in the arse. However, it wasn't fair for him to be left alone on Thanksgiving when his best friends were with me. That just didn't seem right.

I had debated for a few days whether I should invite him or not. The fact was, he was already invited, we had discussed this a few weeks ago in the dining hall, and it ended with me inviting three boys to be with me at my house, alone. I didn't really know what I was thinking back then. It didn't make things easier when all three of them had a chokehold on me... but Ana and Blaise were maybe joining us for at least one day during the weekend, which hopefully would make it easier.

However, I found it necessary to have a conversation with Malfoy a few days before, just to confirm whether he still intended to join us.

Despite having been at the dining-table that day for almost 30 minutes, my mind was only preoccupied with the upcoming discussion with Malfoy. I had rehearsed the dialogue multiple times, carefully choosing the right words. I wasn't actively participating in Theo's and Mattheo's conversation next to me.

As we were set to depart for Thanksgiving break, it was a need to ask Malfoy. I had discussed it with Theo, and he mentioned not knowing if Malfoy was coming, and insisted that I should talk to Malfoy myself instead. However, I hadn't taken that step.

Glancing up at Theo, who remained deeply engaged in conversation with Mattheo, and I not understanding the contents of their discussion, I chose not to involve myself.

"Theo," I interjected. He turned his head to look at me, anticipating my next words.

"Can you ask Malfoy to come here?"

Both Mattheo and Theo furrowed their brows at my request. I understood their confusion; it seemed strange for me to seek out Malfoy.

"You know you don't have to invite him if you don't want to, Nellie," Mattheo huffed, raising his eyebrows.

"Yeah, don't feel any pressure. I don't think he wants to come anyway." Theo said.

I tilted my head to the side to look at Theo.

"But it's not very kind to let him be by himself when two of his best friends choose another one as a priority. I can at least be kind and ask him."

Theo looked away from me to look at Malfoys way, he was seated a bit further away with Bole, Grabbe and Goyle. Theo screamed Malfoy's name to get his attention, and the next minute he was sitting next to me.

"What's the matter?" Malfoy questioned, breaking the silence that lingered at the table. Mattheo and Theo both directed their gazes towards me, making Malfoy do the same.

They awaited my words.

"Um... I was just wondering if you're still planning to come with us for Thanksgiving break?" I mumbled. I noticed him furrowing his brow in response.
