Platinum's POV

"You're serious? After our last battle?" Isaiah said unenthusiastically.

His tone pissed me off even more.

"A 2 on 2 battle! Right now!" I yelled.

"Platinum-" Robert started.

"Don't stop me." I told Robert, then I turned my attention back to Isaiah. "Let's do it!"

Isaiah rolled his eyes.

"No way. Battling with you won't make my Pokémon any stronger." Isaiah said.

Charmeleon's Poké Ball then opened up on its own.

"Char...!" Charmeleon growled as it glared at Isaiah.

Isaiah looked back at Charmeleon. Frustration appeared on his face.

"Heh..." He laughed. "Alright. Let's go."

I put my hand on Charmeleon's back.

"Thanks Charmeleon." I smiled, then turned my attention to Mr. Mango and Mr. Morgan. "Can we use the gym?"

"Go ahead." Mr. Mango said.

"Do you need me to referee?" Mr. Morgan asked.

"What's the point? It'll be over quick anyway." Said Isaiah.

"Don't waste your time Deccy." Said Malike.

"What's going on?" Moon asked as her and Circe came down from the bleachers to join us.

"Platinum challenged Isaiah to a battle..." Apollo said.

"Really?!" Moon said. "But isn't Isaiah the strongest in the school-"

"I don't care!" I interrupted her. "It's time we show how much stronger we've gotten!"

"Char!"

"Vee!" My Pokémon agreed.

Circe looked worried, but she knew she couldn't stop me.

Robert's POV

"You sure you don't want to change your mind?" Isaiah asked Platinum. "Your Pokémon aren't strong enough to win this, you and I both know it."

"Look, we both have the same goal of winning the Junior Tournament some day right? And of course we both want to beat my dad too!" Platinum said.

"Your point?" Isaiah asked.

"Ever since our first battle, I've been thinking more and more about what it really means to be strong... and that means believing in the strength of my Pokémon! And that's because I trust and love them!" Platinum yelled to Isaiah.

I smiled at Platinum's words.

"Vee!" Eevee said.

"Platinum..." Circe said.

"That's why I'm working so hard to make my Pokémon as strong as they can be! The way I know how! After what you did to Charmander, it's clear we both have different ways of reaching our goals." Platinum continued.

Isaiah laughed a little bit.

"You sure can get worked up." He smiled.

"What?!" Platinum angrily yelled.

"Easy Platinum, calm down." I said as I put my hand on Platinum's shoulder. "Doesn't any of the stuff Mr. Morgan teaches us mean anything to you Isaiah?"

"That's not how I do things." Isaiah said in a serious tone. "We're wasting time. Are we going to battle or not?"

"Let's do it!" Platinum yelled.
