Adria's POV:

"You should try the little book shop on the Main Street, the store is really small and even hard to notice but they have great books" Lucian's dad said to me as he accompanied me for breakfast in the kitchen.

"I will have to go there for sure" I said and gave him a sweet smile.

Felix was a sweet man. A gentleman to be exact. And in many ways I saw how much him and Lucian are alike. They seem cold and ruthless to the outside, everyone is told to fear them, but to their friends and families they are the most loyal and loving people. I hadn't seen Felix around a lot since he was always working or out of the house but whenever I did he was always very nice to me.

He would talk to me about books, he would tell me about Lucian's childhood stories and about Dahlia, which he still loves very much, and every time that he spoke about her my heart would melt and ache at the same time.

"Daisy would of loved you" he said after a slight pause.

"I would of loved to meet her too" I said with honesty.

"Tell me more about her" I asked and saw as his face lit up.

"She was a very smart woman, she was a lawyer, the best lawyer in the country may I mention" he said and slightly laughed.

"She was very kind hearted, loved flowers and books of course, and she's the most beautiful woman I've ever laid my eyes on" he said remembering his late wife.

"And after she had Lucian and Layla, they became her priority and she was the greatest mother there is. She would always read them bedtime stories, kiss their knees when they scraped them on the ground, braid Laylas hair with flowers and bows and sit up waiting for Lucian to get back home whenever he stayed past his curfew, not to scold him but to make sure he was okay" he said and I was so amazed how he talked about her. I just could wish that someone some day would talk about me like that.

"But when Layla disappeared 7 years ago she lost her spark. Don't get me wrong she was still the amazing mother and wife but she was grieving for her daughter" he said and his voice slightly cracked at the mention of his daughter. I could tell it was a hard subject for everyone.

"And it had started to get better about a year ago but two months before she died she started acting weird" he said remembering everything. "She didn't sleep much, I recall that she would spend day and night in the library, I would find her passed out there many night in a row and then one day she left the house to go shopping and she never came back alive" he said and the mood now was a lot sadder than before.

"I'm sure she's still here with you all, looking over you and Lucian" I said and patted his shoulder him giving me a sweet smile that most likely was forced.

"Anyways, I know for a fact she wouldn't want us to be sad" he said and stood up placing the dish in the dishwasher.

"I should get some work done" he said smiling before walking out of the kitchen.

I put away my plate and went to look for Lucian. I went to the only place where he could possibly be - his office.

I walked the hallway and turned to go inside Lucian's office and saw that he was there with Vivian.

"Okay, I'll get on it" Vivian said to Lucian taking her phone out of the pocket and turning around now facing me. She looked up from her phone screen and looked at me.

"Adria" she said acknowledging my presence.

"Vivian" I said as she looked back at her phone screen and walked out of Lucian's office.

"What was that all about?" I asked Lucian making my way further into the office.

"Just some mafia stuff" he said and stood up from his chair making his way around the desk.
