Imagine Jack Catching You Singing to Yourself

"Early one morning just as the sun was rising," you quietly sing to yourself as you straighten the sheets. You know your newsies are more than capable of making their beds (and they usually do... eventually. They always are too rushed to do it before they leave in the mornings), but sometimes, when you get off of work a bit early, you like to surprise them by doing it for them.

"Oh, don't deceive me," you continue as you fluff a pillow. "Oh, never leave me. How could you use a poor maiden so?"

"Wow, (y/n), you got a lovely voice," Jack says from behind you.

You blush violently and turn around. You never sing in front of anyone.

"I's serious, (y/n)! You's really good!" he continues.

"You... you're not just saying that? Because if you're lying to me, Jack Kelly..."

"I honestly mean it, (y/n). You should sing for the boys sometime."

"I'll think about it."

"If ya sing some more, I'll help ya make up the rest of the beds."

You have an entire floor left to do. As nervous as it makes you, singing instead of doing the whole floor alone might not be a bad idea. "Deal," you say and smile, thinking of songs you could sing.
