Lily was happy to be home again. Home was her small apartment, which was never too small in her opinion. On second thought, maybe it would be too small for her and her...baby. She'd left the apartment for half a year and now she realized how much she'd missed it. Her stuff, her furniture and her mess. Last time she was in this apartment she was able to deny the whole thing, but now she'd a belly that proved she was pregnant. A belly that couldn't possibly be mistaken for a hanging, fat belly. In the time she was gone, she'd ignored her belly that much and eaten so much chocolate, that she gave herself other reasons why she was becoming bigger. Being home had changed that. It had flipped her back to the reality of everything and after the doctors confirming her pregnancy, she was now more scared then ever. She knew she eventually had to talk to her parents, Hugo, Albus, James, Rose and maybe some of her other friends if they were willing to become her friends again. She even knew that she had to talk to Lorcan. People were asking her if Lorcan was the dad. They assumed that she could've enjoyed the single life and didn't watch out. People assumed everything. Her boss assumed also a lot of things. Loads of letters were lying on her kitchen table. All written in her boss's terrible handwriting, telling her that she couldn't just "take off" like she did. Well, that wasn't something she hadn't realized already. The last letter was a Howler and as soon as Lily opened it, Pansy Parkinson started to scream.
"LILY POTTER! YOU ARE HEREBY FIRED; I WILL TALK ABOUT THIS WITH THE MINISTRY AND DON'T THINK YOUR RICH DADDY CAN HELP YOU OUT OF THIS. IF I SEE YOUR FACE EVER AGAIN I WILL PERSONALLY ENSURE IT WILL BE THE LAST TIME I'LL EVER SEE YOU!"
Lily had never really stopped working. She had done a lot of research for her department in the place where she had been living. The lucky part of that was her boss still had accepted her pieces. The unlucky part of that was that her boss's revenge was lower than Lily had expected from a grown-up woman. Pansy Parkinson's childish revenge were gossip columns with sentences from her and her family, but totally out of context and with the strangest outcomes. Lily tucked the letters away and sat down on her couch for a while. Quietly she enjoyed being back again. She really had missed her family so much and there was no change you could be alone when all of them were together. She was genuinely happy to laugh with them and to hear what happened to everybody in the time she was away. Lorcan had been really confusing, though. The minute he'd walked in the room, the atmosphere had changed and she felt like she was fourteen again. She was shy, became bright red - which didn't really match her hair - and didn't know what to say, on top of that: how to react when he kissed her! He'd kissed her! Like that fourteen-year-old version of herself she was analyzing every little detail about why he'd kissed her and what it meant - or worse: if it even meant anything at all! The fourteen-year-old-atmosphere that was around them usually made Lily feel safe and loved. Now it was worse then ever. It was strange how their atmosphere always seemed to connect them out of nowhere and it was the reason why Lily couldn't break up with him. Their atmosphere, their chemistry, wasn't something she could just...break. When she was away, she pretended for a long while that she didn't miss him and it would be okay if he was dating someone, but the minute he'd walked into the room, she knew it wasn't okay. He was hers, but she didn't know how she could handle that. Finally had all the analyzing took it's toll on her and she felt slowly asleep on the bench. She heard some murmurs in the other room in her house and it made her smile, because they sounded familiar. The voices murmured in her head and her dream began to take over and translated the voices into people.
