The Harris girl looked up from the cake once Maddy blew out the candles, and once she did she saw the oldest Howard sister staring at her. She could see the regret and pain in Cassie's eyes, but as much as that hurt her, it also made her mad, how dare Cassie be the one that's hurt when she did what she did and never even apologized. 
     "Okay, gifts first, cake later," Maddy said, already picking up a medium bag that sat on the top of her gift pile. Maddy opened the bag with a gasp, pulling a pink top from the purple bag. "Thank you so much!" The latina said, getting up and hugging Kat. Next she picked a box with pink butterfly wrapping around it, the box was so carefully wrapped which made both Maddies already guess who bought this one. "Oh my god Lexi!" Maddy shouted as she saw the big eyeshadow palette in front of her, "you didn't have to!" She pulled the brown haired girl into a tight hug.
     "It's nothing," Lexi blushed, "it's from me and mom," she nodded towards the older Howard.
     "Thank you Suze," Maddy gave the women a hug. She carefully placed the palette on the table, moving onto the next gift, a small black bag. She pulled two little boxes from the bag, a lip gloss and an eyeliner pen, which made Maddy jump with happiness, and pulled BB into a hug, "bitch, thank you so much!" The next gift was Cassie's, who had just laid a book in front of Maddy, making the latter sit down. The book had bold glittery letters with Maddy's name on the cover, as well as many other things glued to it. When Maddy opened the book she saw pictures and collages of her and her friends, especially of her and Cassie. As Maddy flipped the pages, Madelyn could see tears rolling down her friend's face. She could feel tears on her own face, she saw the pictures of the three of them together in the book. The latina got up from her seat, pulling Cassie into a hug, but Maddie couldn't help but notice the guilty look on the blonde's face. When she pulled away Maddy turned towards the last gift, the small black bag Madelyn had brought. The dark haired girl didn't waste time opening the bag, and when she looked inside she let out a loud gasp. "Holy shit!" The Perez girl said.
     "Is that Tiffany?" Suze asked once Maddy lifted the necklace. It was a silver chain with two heart pendants, one was silver with the brand's name on it, and the other was Tiffany blue with an 'M' engraved in the middle. 
     "How did you afford this?" Maddy said, pulling her best friend into a hug.
     "That's none of your business," the blonde smiled at her. 
     "Well... put it on," the latina gave her the necklace and turned around. Madelyn pushed Maddy's ponytail to the side, securing the necklace around her neck. The Perez girl turned around, looking at herself in the mirror on the wall, before smiling and hugging her friend again, "thank you so much!" The latina turned to her friends who were already eating her cake, "okay bitches, picture time," she announced.
     The group of girls moved to the stairs, Maddy and Cassie sat side by side, Kat and BB were on the steps above them, Lexi and Madelyn sat above them. As Suze took pictures Maddie noticed Lexi was hiding herself behind Kat.
     "Come on Lex!" Mads said, pulling her friend up, so she would show up in the picture.
     "Nooo, Mads," the brunette fought her, but after a few seconds she realized it would be better if she just smiled for the pictures. 
     As the night went on Maddie forgot about Cassie's presence, as the girl avoided everyone and got drunk by herself. The girls danced in the living room, eating cake and drinking, thanks to Suze, and even Lexi had joined them. 
     But all the good vibes Madelyn was feeling went away once she saw Nate's tall frame walking into the house. Nate's presence brought almost everyone back to the dining room,  most of the women in the house wanted to see what Nate bought Maddy, most of them already had an idea from the blue bag he had in his hand. The Harris girl followed Kat to the room, not missing the look gave her as Maddy opened the blue box on her hand, screaming as she pulled the silver bracelet out of the box. The dark haired girl pulled Nate into a hug before asking him to put the bracelet on her arm.
