"CALL IT AGAIN," Scott ordered as he searched his room for his phone. Beck laid on her stomach on Scott's bed, watching him as he searched around her.
"It's not here," Stiles groaned as he gave a dramatic roll of his head.
"So, you lost your phone. Why don't you just get a new one?" Beck asked innocently with a raised eyebrow as Scott flopped down to the floor, searching under his bed.
"Because I can't afford a new one," Scott snapped. Beck peered over the edge, watching Scott as he rummaged around. "And I can't do this alone. We have to find Derek."
"Well, A, you're not alone. You have me and Beck." Stiles said gesturing between the two. "And B, didn't you say Derek walked into gunfire? He sounds pretty dead."
Beck reached down, grabbing ahold of one of Scott's shoes. With a swing of her arm, Beck threw the shoe at Stiles hitting him in the head.
"Hey," Stiles snapped, throwing the shoe back at Beck but missed.
"Haven't you learned by now that if you believe someone's dead, they're probably not? Not until you see the body."
"Beck's right," Scott called as he searched his bathroom. "Besides, Argent planned to use him to get the alpha. They're not gonna kill him."
"Alright, so then just let them do what they're planning, you know?" Stiles suggested as he watched Scott toss his clothes around. "They use Derek to get Peter, problem solved." Again, Beck threw one of Scott's shoes at Stiles's head. "Stop that!" He snapped, turning to her before throwing it back, missing again.
Scott exited the bathroom, glancing around. "Not if Peter's going after Allison to find Derek!" He rushed across the room to his desk, searching there. "I can't protect her on my own. Which means we need to find Derek first. Just-just help me!" Scott turned to Beck, her chin propped on her fists. "Beck, would you know where he is?"
Beck shrugged her shoulders, throwing her hands out. "Does it look like I have him chipped?"
"What about your cell phone?" Stiles asked. "The one you used to call Derek when he was shot."
Beck glared at Stiles before grumbling. "Your dad took it." Beck then turned to Scott. "You know, you probably lost it when you and Derek were fighting."
"Yeah, you remember that, when he was trying to kill you? After you interrupted him trying to kill Jackson? Are you starting to see a pattern of violent behavior here?" Stiles rambled as he glared at Scott.
Scott paused, turning slightly to Stiles. "He wasn't going to kill anyone. And I'm not letting him die."
"Could you at least think about letting him die?" Stiles whined as he turned to Scott. "For me?" Stiles then released a groan as another shoe collided with his head.
Scott's head snapped to the side. Beck knew what that meant, he heard something.
"What?"
"My mom just got home from work," Scott explained before sitting at the edge of his desk.
"Is she okay?" Beck asked, watching Scott. Scott shook his head, an upset look appearing on his face.
"What's she doing?" Stiles asked.
"Crying," Scott said softly. He stood up and made his way to his bed, sitting down next to Beck. Beck rested her hand on his arm as she took a sharp intake of air. Flashing before her eyes was another pair of eyes.
This time the eyes were female and brown. They were gentle, but there was a sense of power lying deep within them. Like they weren't something to underestimate.
Scott hung his head low as Stiles released a breath, both ignoring the quick shake of Beck's head as she sat up.
"Scott, you can't protect everyone," Stiles breathed, staring concernedly at his best friend.
"I have to," Scott argued.
