(Ignore the fact that the picture has nothing to do with royal things, there wasn't any fanart I could find.)

Third Person POV

Things had always been tough for Mitsuri, especially when she had gotten older. As a child, her parents were very loving even though they had pushed her a bit too hard on her and her studies. As a princess, her parents wanted her to be smart so that she would be able to make educated deals and treaties with other kingdoms. A bit afterwards, Mitsuri's parents were set on her getting married to a well known prince in another kingdom, hoping to create a new alliance. At first, Mitsuri was relatively excited. Throughout her studies, the princess had always imagined a prince coming and swooping her away from her boring life and taking her out to explore. Her excited personality was shone very clearly when the prince had come over for a meeting. At first, the man was relatively attractive and he seemed to have a good personality, but as they hung out more, Mitsuri began to see him as an older brother. Despite this, her parents still pushed her to get married, eventually guilt tripping her into starving herself and keeping her strength hidden. At one point, Mitsuri decided to have a private talk with her supposed lover.

"Rengoku? There's something that I've been meaning to ask you." Mitsuri and Rengoku were sitting together on a bench in the garden, one of the only places they could be alone. "How do you feel about this marriage thing? I know that obviously it would be good for our kingdoms, but is it something that you'd really like to do?" Rengoku seemed to understand the question as his somewhat confused expression melted into a bright smile. "If you're worried about me loving you back, then there's nothing to worry about! I'm sure this will eventually work out wonderfully!" Mitsuri felt a bit embarrassed at the fact that she had to explain herself further. "No no! I'm not too worried about that! I mean that I don't want to go through with the marriage..." Rengoku's smile softened just enough for Mitsuri to notice. "Well, is there a reason for this Mitsuri?" Mitsuri sighed and explained the fact that she didn't see Rengoku like a brother and it just didn't feel right to marry him. Throughout her explanation, Rengoku was smiling softly. He told Mitsuri that he understood and that he felt the same way. He suggested that the two of them hang out to discuss it a bit more over dinner, potentially being able to stop the marriage from happening.

The two royals decided to wander around town to look for a place to eat, eventually finding a pretty snake themed restaurant. When they walked in, Rengoku greeted the man who seemed to be the owner before sitting down. The black haired man seemed annoyed at the amiable prince in front of him, but his expression immediately changed when he saw Mitsuri behind him. It was hard to see because of the bandages covering the lower half of his face, but some may say that he even blushed a bit. Both Mitsuri and Rengoku sat at a nice table and waited before their waiter came over. Turns out that it was the same black haired man that Rengoku had greeted on their way inside. Up close, Mitsuri realized that she was shorter than she had originally thought. She found out that he had heterochromia and the princess found that absolutely astounding. His black hair framed his face almost perfectly and Mitsuri found him very handsome.

"I'm Iguro and I'll be serving you today. What can I get you?" Iguro's voice made Mitsuri's heart skip a beat and she could feel her face heat up. Rengoku ordered first, asking for his favorite meal, leaving his royal companion a chance to order. Mitsuri ordered one of the healthier meals on the menu before asking for some sakuramochi. Iguro nodded and took note of the girl's change in expression when she asked for her favorite food before walking away to begin making their food.

Once the food was brought out to Mitsuri and Rengoku, the two started eating. Many people might have been concerned about how fast the pair was eating, but nobody was really paying attention. Besides Iguro. The black haired man could barely take his eyes off of the elegant girl who had walked into the shop that night. Mitsuri noticed this, but didn't say anything. She didn't mind. If anything, she enjoyed the attention from Iguro. The princess was grateful that Rengoku suggested this restaurant instead of some other fancy place that didn't feel as homey as this.

Despite ordering multiple servings, Rengoku and Mitsuri had become full. The princess was a bit sad that she was about to leave without asking for the name of the man with heterochromia. Yet, as if someone had heard her wishes, Rengoku walked over to Iguro to thank him for the wonderful food. She was nervous, but Mitsuri figured that she would never go anywhere if she didn't suck it up. After taking a deep breath in and closing her eyes tightly, Mitsuri walked closer and relaxed. Both men had noticed the princess move and stopped their conversation to hear what she would say. Iguro, for once, was actually a bit excited.

"The food was amazing and I really like it here, can I please know your name?!" Mitsuri hadn't even been able to stop herself from blurting that sentence out. Both Rengoku and Iguro were a bit surprised, but Iguro had a tint of pink on his cheeks. At first, he had simply believed that his want to get closer was one sided, yet this seemed to be false.

"I'm Iguro Obanai... And thank you..." Mitsuri's flushed face had a large smile on it now and she felt her heart skip a few beats at her excitement. Before she could respond, Rengoku jumped in with another suggestion.

"We have a bit of time left before you have to be back at the castle Mitsuri! Why don't we all go for a walk around town?" His voice was loud as always. Mitsuri seemed relatively excited and the two of them awaited Iguro's answer. If it was just a walk with Rengoku, his answer would have been an immediate no, but the excitement and adorable smile that Mitsuri had on her face made it hard for Iguro to say that. Plus, he wouldn't mind spending more time with her.
