"Luffy!!!" We heard from the water ways above our head. The mermaids use them to travel easier throughout the island, it's much faster than using a bubble. Nami was holding onto Caimie with an air bubble around her head.

"Nami!" Luffy shouted. "Did the banquet start yet?!"

I scratched at my head in confusion, did I forget to tell him we were captured by the Royal Army? I shrugged, I doubt it would've changed anything anyways.

Nami explained to Luffy what I already knew, and then went on to explain about some guy named Hody. Nami escaped with Camie just as Hody and his Fishmen crew attacked the palace and everyone in it.

"What's happened to Zoro and the others then?!" Luffy shouted.

I spoke up then, "they're alive, I know that much."

"I was going to go back for them once I found you guys," she said.

Shirahoshi was crying again, "fathers been captured? I can't believe it!"

Jinbe didn't seem surprised at all. "It seems you've been drawn into our troubles all too quickly. First I have to say, when I met you two years ago, there was simply not enough time to say. But I thank you for putting a stop to the terror that Arlong and his crew caused in the East Blue." I was startled at his name, but even more so as Jinbe continued. "But I have to apologize, for the one responsible for unleashing Arlong upon the East Blue, was none other than myself."

My eyes drifted to Nami immediately.

....

Jinbe finished his story. I wanted to see Queen Otohime's dream come true. They've been subjugated for far too long, and gaining acceptance wouldn't be easy in the depths of the ocean where only human pirates roam freely. They deserve to see the sun just as much as we do.

Arlong, a terrible person at best, was a product of that hatred. Nami decided that Jinbe wasn't responsible for the pain Arlong had caused her, and she reassured him that she was having fun now.

"I won't blame you just because you're a Fishman."

I smiled as Jinbe lowered his head with tears running down his face, "I don't deserve your words. I am obliged!"

Franky couldn't hold it in anymore, and he started sobbing. "Wahhh! I understand your difficult position! You're a real man, Jinbe! I love the Fishman family!"

I let out a laugh as I wiped away my own tears.

Nami properly introduced herself to the Princess. Well, maybe not so proper, if Caimie's reaction was anything to go by. But, Shirahoshi didn't seem to mind. In fact, she immediately took a liking to her.

"Sorry for taking up so much time," Jinbe apologized. "About the situation at the castle, Hody and his gang captured the King and his soldiers, and four of your friends are missing," he summarized.

"I left one of my mates with them, they should be fine," I stated. "He'd tell me if they were dealing with something they couldn't handle."

"Nyuu, Jinbe-san," Hachi said from his position on the ground.

He was still badly wounded, but he wouldn't die. I did plan to heal him as thanks for protecting the Sunny as long as he did, but I didn't have much energy. It'd have to wait until it's safer.

Hachi continued, "if all is going according to Hody's plan, the whole island is probably in chaos."

"That's right! You were at the Fishmen District. Do you know Hody's plan?" Jinbe asked him. "I knew he was scheming something since he left the army, but he never said it out loud in front of me."
