When Draco came back in the afternoon he saw Aurora peacefully sleeping. He didn't want to disturb her so he walked silently to his desk. Grabbing his books so he could study.
An hour passed and Draco managed to stay quiet so Aurora was still sleeping. "Heyy!" Pansy said as she walked in. This caused Aurora to wake up. "Not so loud dumbass, she was sleeping," Draco said, pointing to Aurora.
"I'm sorry, Rory," Pansy whispered. "It's okay, don't worry," Aurora groaned as she tried to sit up. She rubbed her eyes and gave a small smile to her two friends. "How did you sleep, Aurora?" Draco asked. "I slept fine, what time is it?"
"It's almost six o'clock so we should probably head to the Great hall for dinner," Pansy said. Aurora stood up and grabbed another shirt so she could change and look a little more appropriate. "Yeah alright, I'll be done in a minute," She said bluntly.
After Aurora had changed her shirt, her, Draco, and Pansy walked out of Draco's dorm to the Great hall. Aurora was a little nervous, she was probably going to see her brother and Daphne. She was still mad at them which is understandable since they burnt the last thing Aurora had left from her father.
Aurora was lost in her mind until she heard all the voices coming from the loud students. She felt like everyone was looking at her. Her heart pounds in rhythm with all the thoughts racing through her mind. The feeling of being watched or judged, too scared to say the wrong thing or to say anything at all, too frightened of making someone mad.
So she walks with her head down, following Draco and Pansy towards the Slytherin table where her other friends are. Aurora takes a seat next to Pansy whilst Draco sits in front of her. They start to join the conversation as Aurora stays quiet.
Aurora looks up, she sees Theodore, he doesn't see her. He's too busy talking to Daphne, she says something that makes him laugh. Aurora wants to get out of here but she hasn't even started eating. She was still upset but she did also want to make it up with her brother.
Theodore's head turned in her direction and Aurora made no move to look away, but before she could say something he turned his head back to Daphne. Why did he pretend that she wasn't there? Did she do something wrong?
"Aurora, you need to eat something," Pansy said, acting like she was Aurora's mom. "Yeah, I know," Aurora almost whispered because of how softly she spoke. She took hold of her fork and started to eat. Pansy was still looking at Aurora, making sure she was eating enough.
Aurora hated it when Pansy thought that Aurora was doing so bad, she had to watch her the whole time. Aurora knew Pansy was doing it because she was her best friend but still, she could take care of herself.
She looked at Theodore again, seeing him talking to Draco and Blaise while he was playing with Daphne's hair. Theo used to play with her hair like that after she had a nightmare when she was younger. She felt slight jealousy and it only became worse when Mattheo and Astoria arrived.
Aurora did not feel jealous because he was holding hands with Astoria, no she felt jealous because she also wanted someone to love her. Aurora could feel Astoria's eyes on her which made her uncomfortable so she decided to give a small smile, hoping Astoria would look away.
When dinner was over Mattheo asked her to stay for a little longer. Everyone else walked out and their friends would go to the boys' dorm. "I thought maybe we should uhm, talk?" Mattheo said.
"What is there to talk about Mattheo?" Aurora responded, meeting Mattheo's eyes. "I don't know, I just wanted to apologize," He spoke. Aurora wanted to end this conversation as fast as possible, it was kinda awkward. "You did nothing wrong, we weren't even dating," She reassured him that she wasn't mad at him and they walked together to the common room.
Mattheo went to his dorm, leaving Aurora to go to Draco's dorm. She knew that she and Pansy had made up and there was no reason for her to stay with Draco but she didn't want to leave him just yet. She has gotten far too comfortable for her liking and she knew that she had to leave soon.
It scared her how much she liked him, and of course, the voices in her head used this. They were telling her that he was just doing this because they were in the same friend group. It was possible that this was the only reason but Aurora hoped that it wasn't.
She didn't like to hope for things, because when you hope for things you can get easily disappointed. And Aurora couldn't handle getting disappointed again. So Aurora genuinely hoped that Draco was letting her stay in his dorm because he cared about her as much as she cared about him.
Aurora was getting sleepy and she had no energy left to change her clothes. So when she had walked into Draco's dorm she headed straight to the bed. She was so tired but she wasn't able to fall asleep. Her mind was running off to dark corners and coming back with reasons why she was not good enough. Not good enough for her brother, for Draco, for Pansy, for the rest of her friends. And lastly why she hadn't been good enough for her father.
It's almost midnight and Aurora was lying here, crying about nothing but at the same time about everything. She fell asleep soon after, tired after crying so much.
Pansy and Draco came back after midnight and saw Aurora sleeping. Draco went for a shower whilst Pansy walked over to Aurora. She grabbed a blanket and laid it over Aurora, so she wouldn't get cold. As she was doing this Aurora turned around and her sleeve moved a little.
It moved enough for Pansy to see her wrist. The wrist with cuts all over it. Pansy gasped and laid down next to Aurora, tears rolling down her cheeks. She waited for Draco, he needed to know about this. They could take care of Aurora together. They could help her.
Pansy waited and waited, it felt like hours had passed when Draco walked out of the bathroom. His hair was still wet from the hot shower he had just taken. "Pans, what's wrong?" He asked. "It's Aurora," She replied, sitting up so she could look at him. "What? What's wrong with her?"
"H-her wrist, Draco," Pansy said as tears were still covering her cheeks. Draco moved to the side of Aurora, already knowing what he was about to see. Even though he knew, he still hoped it wasn't true. Draco moved her sleeve carefully so he wouldn't hurt her.
He laid down next to her and she immediately curls up into him, her head against his chest. Draco gives a soft smile to Pansy as she comes to lie down on the other side of Aurora. "We will help her," Draco says, placing a kiss on Aurora's head. His eyes stinging, about to let the tears fall.
"Yeah, we will," Pansy replied, closing her eyes. Draco feels the hot tears on his cheeks. His hands go around Aurora, wanting to keep her safe.
