Leni couldn't help but cry through the car ride. She kept on thinking why had Risa done this to her nor she knew what she did to deserve to be hurt like this.
"Mali bang mahalin kita? Mali ba na mahal pa rin kita kahit sinasaktan mo na'ko to the point na gusto pa rin kitang makasama?" Leni thought to herself.
She asked her driver to take her back to the condo. When she arrived she went up to her room and packed a bag full of clothes. She fixed herself up and told her Trisha and Jillian that she will be gone for a few days.
"Trish, Jill. Wala muna ako sa mga susunod na araw ha. May importante lang akong pupuntahan." Leni said to her daughters.
"Ma? Ganitong oras?" Trisha asked.
"Oo, meron pa namang byahe. Mas gusto kong mag-bus alam niyo 'yan." Leni responded.
"Ma, kumusta pala? Nag-usap na ba kayo ni Mama Ris?" Jillian asked.
Leni was taken back by the question but decided to lie about it so that her daughters wouldn't worry, Aika had still no idea after all.
"Ah. Oo. Pero busy rin kasi siya kaya di muna kami makakapag-meet, pero nag-usap naman na kami." Leni answered the question while trying to hold up the tears.
"Okay, Ma. Sige na at baka mawalan na ng byahe." Jillian said.
Both the girls got up kissed and hugged Leni and told her to have a safe trip.
Lenj felt bad for lying but she knew this is the best way to let her girls be free from worry. She had to hide somewhere from Risa and she knew where the best place would be, Naga.
Leni went to the bus station and bought a ticket. She took the next bus home, she had a disguise and the drivers know that the trip had to be discreet.
"Kailangan ko munang lumayo sa'yo, Risa. Masyado nang masakit ang sitwasyon natin, pinipilit nalang ba natin na mahalin ang isa't isa?" Leni thought to herself.
She felt as if the situation has been eating her feelings for Risa bit by bit, she was afraid and confused that what if it would be the reason for the both of them to fall apart even more.
She put her phone on silent mode and muted Risa's number and notifications on social media. She needed a break from her.
Ten hours later, Leni arrived at the bus terminal in Naga which was around 5:30 am. No one knew that Leni went to Naga, not even her daughters, all she wanted was time to herself, but she still brought the paperwork she had to finish.
She arrived at their old apartment, the home she lived in with her daughters and her late husband. She missed the simple life they had before the plane crash. She was at peace alright, but also in pain. She came across the table where their pictures were displayed, but a portrait of her husband stood above all.
"Hi, Pa. Miss na kita sobra. Pasensya na ta dai ta ka na nabibisitang marhay. Aram ko man na ini an gugustuhon mo para samuya. Padabaon ta kang marhay." (Sorry if I am not able to visit you that often. I know that this is what you would've wanted for us. I love you so much.) Leni said while touching the portrait of her husband. "Ta-wan mo ako ki sign kung si Risa ba talaga an dapat sakuya. Muya ko naman maging maogma. Ngata daw ta garo pirmi na sana ako nakukulugan, pati na sana ika, nadadamay ko na. Padabaon ko man siya, Jess. Ta-wi na ako maski ki senyas." (Give me a sign if Risa is really the one for me. Why does it seem that I always get hurt. I also want to be happy. I love her so much too. Please give me a sign.) Leni added.
Leni unpacked her things and entered their room where she took a nap and had a dream.
Leni found herself in an all white place, it was glowing. She found her peace and was relaxed.
"Ang sarap naman dito, ang tahimik." Leni said as she layed down on a slant platform.
She saw a tall figure within a short distance. It seemed familiar. She didn't pay much attention to it when she suddenly heard a voice, a voice that was so familiar that she couldn't have mistaken it for someone else.
"Ano na, Ma?" It was Jesse, Leni quickly got up in shock.
"Ta'no nag-buwat ka?" (Why'd you get up) Jesse asked.
Leni stood in shock in what she was seeing, for years she had asked for this to happen, but now that it was happening, she couldn't get a word out of her.
"Mari na, taning kita." (Come now, let's lay together) Jesse said.
Leni followed, she can't help but stare at her husband. The first one to make her heart flutter.
"Pa? Ngata ngunyan sana?" (Pa? Why just now?) Leni asked.
Jesse just smiled and Leni knew what it was exactly, this was her sign.
"Tugot ka man?" (Do you agree?) Leni asked.
Jesse nodded and said, " Muya ko na maogma ka, kamo nira Aika. Haluyon na akong nawara. Ako, Ma. Maogmahon ako na nahihiling kung ano an naabot mo."(I want you to be happy, you and our kids. I've been gone for so long. I'm so happy to see what have you reached.)
Leni just smiled and hugged him, how she missed his comfort.
"Kung siya an nakakapag-paugma si'mo, siya an pilion mo. Ta ako? Yaon sana ako, kami ni Frank." (If she makes you happy, then choose her. Because I? I'm just here, Frank and I.)
Both of them shared a hug and Jesse gave Leni a kiss on her forehead.
Soon after, Leni woke up. She had tears running down from her eyes. She opened her phone and all the notifications had popped, but she only wanted to see Risa's texts and messages. She unmuted Risa and began reading her texts.
"Leni? It wasn't what you thought."
"Pangga can we talk?"
"Leni please sorry, it wasn't what you were thinking."
Leni couldn't help but smile and replied.
"Kita tayo." Read Leni's message.
