Y/N didn't expect Hermione's anger to abate overnight, and was therefore unsurprised that she communicated mainly by dirty looks and pointed silences next morning. Ron responded by maintaining an unnaturally sombre demeanour in her presence as an outward sign of continuing remorse. Infact, when all four of them were together he felt like the only non-mourner at a poorly attended funeral.

"Y/N can we talk?" asked Hermione, "Yeah of course" said Y/N following her, "What is it?" he asked once outside.

"Are you okay?" asked Hermione looking worriedly at Y/N

"Yeah of course I am, why do you ask?" Y/N asked confused.

"Well, because he's back, and I know how you feel" said Hermione, "I mean yeah its awkward especially after yesterday but I'm over it, besides we need as many allies as possible." said Y/N reassuring Hermione, but she kept giving him the same look she always had when there was something else bothering her.

"Was there something else you wanted to ask?" Y/N asked Hermione, Hermione sighed, "I want to go see Luna's Father" she said.

Y/N raised an eyebrow confused, "Why?" he asked

"Well because he has the same symbol as this" said Hermione showing Y/N the symbol drawn on the book Dumbledore left her, "And we saw it in a gravestone in Godric's hollow and Xenophilius wore a necklace with that same symbol" said Hermione.

"Oi I've seen that before Lad" said Godric inside Y/N's head.

"Where?"

"I dont know, but it seems strangely familiar" said Godric, "Perhaps we should visit this Lovegood fella" said Godric.

"Yeah lets ask Harry and Ron" said Y/N.

The two walked in and Hermione immediately spoke up,

'We need to talk,' she said loud enough for Harry and Ron to hear her.

"What is it?" asked Harry with Ron walking slowly behind him.

'I want to go and see XenophiliusLovegood.' she said

They stared at her

'Sorry?' said Harry confused

'Xenophilius Lovegood. Luna's father. Iwant to go and talk to him!'

'Er – why?'

She took a deep breath, as though bracing herself, and said, 'It's that mark, the mark in Beedle the Bard. Look at this!'

She thrust The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore under Harry's unwilling eyes and he saw a photograph of the original letter that Dumbledore had written Grindelwald's, with Dumbledore's familiar thin, slanting writing. He hated seeing absolute proof that Dumbledore really had written those words, that they had not been Rita's invention.

'The signature,' said Hermione. 'Look at the signature, Harry!'

He obeyed. For a moment he had no idea what she was talking about, but, looking more closely with the aid of his lit wand, he saw that Dumbledore had replaced the 'A' of Albus with a tiny version of the same triangular mark inscribed upon The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

'Er – what are you –?' said Ron tentatively, but Hermione quelled him with a look and turned back to Harry.

It keeps cropping up, doesn't it?' she said. 'I know Viktor said it was Grindelwald's mark, but it was definitely on that old grave in Godric's Hollow, and the dates on the headstone were long before Grindelwald came along! And now this! Well, we can't ask Dumbledore or Grindelwald what it means –I don't even know whether Grindelwald's still alive – but we can ask Mr Lovegood. He was wearing the symbol at the wedding. I'm sure this is important, Harry!'
