"Diana! Please get out of there!" Looking up, I saw Legolas already in the keep.

Leaving Haldir among the dead, I wiped my tears, dashing towards the keep, the doors closing behind me as Orcs slammed against it.

I made my way up to the keep and back to Legolas and the others.

We made our way towards the gate. Men were braced against it as a battering ram pounded against it. Aragorn grabbed my arm as he and Gimli ran into the fray, leaving through a side door shortly after promising Theoden we would give him time to patch the gate.

We slowly crept up on the side, letting my brother check to make sure we could go.

"Oh come on, we can take them!" Gimli says excitedly.

"It's a long way." Aragorn replies causing Gimli to quickly check the distance again.

"Toss me." Gimli suddenly says.

Aragorn and I look at him, eyebrows raised. "What?" Aragorn asks.

"I cannot jump the distance you'll have to toss me!" Gimli says.

Aragorn slowly nods, preparing to toss him before Gimli stops him for a quick moment. "Don't tell the elf." he pleads.

"Not. A. Word." Aragorn replies before quickly tossing Gimli over. He then turns to me. "See you there, sis!"

Suddenly I'm tossed over to the other side, knocking down a few Uruks as I land next to Gimli, who was already fighting.

A few moments later, Aragorn is by my side and the three of us fight, keeping the Uruks away from the door.

"Gimli, Aragorn, Diana! Get out of there!" the king orders us.

Aragorn looks at us for a second and as he does, Gimli gets a Uruk leaping on his back.Aragorn goes to help while I keep the Uruks away from them.

"Aragorn! Diana!" Legolas calls to us, before throwing down a rope. Aragorn grabs Gimli in one hand and gestures to me and  I put my arms around his neck as he grabs the rope with his other hand.

We jump up the wall, slowly but surely, as Legolas pulls the rope up. He pulls me up over the side of the first, before he grabs Gimli and I grab my brother.

The Hornburg was flooded with Uruk-Hai and the keep was becoming overwhelmed. We were desperately trying to fight off the orcs, but it wouldn't take long before the Uruks breached the gate and slaughtered us all.

"Fall back!" a soldier yelled below us.

"They have broken through! The castle is breached! Retreat!" Theoden commanded.

"Hurry! Inside! Get them inside!" Aragorn rambled, ushering the soldiers into the hall.

We ended up retreating into the hall of Helm's deep. The last remaining soldiers cowering in there as we tried desperately to  block the entrance doors with anything we could find. Bracing the doors with tables and chairs as the orcs brought their battering ram down onto it.

"The fortress is taken." Theoden stated solemnly. "It is over!"

"You said this fortress would never fall while your men defend it!" Aragorn angrily exclaimed, handing another table over to me and Legolas so we could add it to the defenses. "They still defend it! They have died defending it!"

Theoden gave no answer.

"Is there no other way for the women and children to get out of the caves?" Aragorn turned back to Theoden, "Is there no other way?"

"There is one passage. It leads into the mountains." the guard next to Theoden piped up. "But they will not get far, the Uruk-hai are too many!"

"Send word for the women and children to make for the mountain pass," Aragorn told the guard, "And barricade the entrance!"

"So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?"  Theoden asked.

"Ride out with me." Aragorn suggested after a moments thought, "Ride out and meet them."

"For death and glory." Theoden added.

"For Rohan. For your people." Aragorn explained.

"The sun is rising," Gimli pointed out, making us all turn to the window.

"Yes." Theoden said quietly, "Yes. The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the Deep one last time!"

"Yes!" Gimli roared in triumphant

"Let this be the hour when we draw swords together." Theoden explained, grabbing Aragorn by the shoulder.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gimli had made his way to the top of the tower where the mighty horn of Helm's Deep sat. The rest of us, collecting our horses from the stables next to the hall.

We waited, on our horses, as the Uruks pounded their battering ram into the door.

"Fell deeds, awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and a red dawn!" Theoden bellowed and as Gimli blew the horn, the doors to the hall burst open and the Uruks rushed in.

"Forth Eorlingas!" the king yelled, brandishing his sword as he charged the enemy, us following close behind.

I kicked Moonlight into a gallop as we followed Theoden out into the keep. I slashed at the Uruks with my sword, hacking and chopping as we made our way out onto the causeway and into what was left of the bulk of orc army.

I used the dagger that Legolas had given me, to plunge straight through the helmet of one of the orcs.

We were surrounded on all fronts when a figure all in white appeared on the eastern hill. He started riding down towards us with thousands of Rohirrim men in tow.

The Uruks began ignoring us and rushed to form a defensive line against the charging soldiers.

The sun then peaked over the hill, momentarily blinding the orcs as the Rohan soldiers cut through them. It didn't take long for the line to break and the orcs to be crushed.

"Victory! We have victory!" Theoden cheered as the last of the Uruks fled.

Everyone started cheering as the remaining Uruks ran away and into a forest, that wasn't there the day before.

"Stay out of the forest!" Eomer yelled. "Keep away from the trees!"

It was finally all over now.
