The Start of Lonely Nights

                                    

                                          
Leni just layed down, alone in her hospital room thinking what she did to deserve to be hurt like that. 
"Every time I fall in love or care so much for someone, I always get hurt. Bakit ganito nalang palagi. Is it that too much to ask para sumaya?" Leni thought to herself. 
She started to burry her face in the palms of her hand. Trisha and Jillian had arrived and saw her.
"Ma?! What's wrong? Sumasakit ba ulo mo? Ano pong problema?" Trisha asked frantically.
"Si Risa, she--" Leni replied and then stopped.
"Mama Ris what, Ma?" Jillian asked.
"Risa said she wanted to cool off muna." 
"What?!" Trisha said out loud.
Leni just kept on sobbing. 
"Sinabi niya ba kung bakit?" Trisha asked.
"She showed me this article and photo that said na may boyfriend daw ako. Nandoon talaga sa pic na niyayakap ako." Leni answered.
Leni cried more, Jillian hugged her and Trisha just looked down at the floor.
"Don't worry, Ma. It will be okay. Mama Ris will understand naman." Jillian said while hugging Leni.
Leni just cherished the moment being together with her two daughters. She requested not to tell Aika what happened to avoid her from worrying. Both Trisha and Jillian agreed.

Leni, as usual, after getting discharged, quickly got back to work. Her paperwork had doubled when she was hospitalized. Meeting after meeting, she was beginning to get stressed again but she can't complain, she knows that the people need these projects. 
It has been days now and yet Leni hasn't heard anything from Risa. She called Leila, knowing that she was also close with Risa since they were both senators.
"Hi Sen. Kumusta?" Leni said when Risa answered the phone. 
"Hi Leni! Eto, mejo busy, mejo kalmado. Ikaw? Kumusta?" Leila asked.
"Eto, broken. Haha. Anyways, kumusta kayo jan sa senate?" 
"Okay lang naman, pero teka, bakit broken?" 
"Ah ha? Wala, anyways kumusta si Risa?"
"Ay oo nga pala, si Risa. Balita ko kina Issa, di nanaman ma-contact. Pero di naman sila nag-aalala kasi for sure kailangan lang noon ng pahinga, pero ang questioning kasi almost one week na siyang wala. Usually kasi three to four days lang siya nawawala tapos babalik rin lang. May balita ka ba?"
"Wala rin eh. Pero siguro okay lang siya. Anyways, yun lang naman. Sen, paalam na muna ako ha, dami ko pang hahabulin na paperwork tapos may courtesy visit pa ako sa Malacañan mamayang hapon. Thank you ha."
"Thank you, rin sa napaka-importanteng tawag, VP Leni."
"Isus. Para ini man sana, dai man importante. Salamatunon, Sen." (Sus. It's not that important. Thank you so much, Sen.) 
Leni couldn't help but worry about Risa and decided to text her but she was stopped when someone knocked on the door.
"Ma'am Leni?" the person asked.
"Sino 'yan? Pasok ka." Leni replied.
It was her assistant Annie.
"Oh Annie. Meron bang bago?" Leni asked.
"Yes, Ma'am. It's an update about the fake news that was and is still spreading on social media." Annie answered.
Leni was so excited and quickly got up.
"So? Ano yung nalaman sa investigation?"
"Ma'am, the photo was not edited at all. Actually you wore that dress when you were a Guest of Honor in Aklan few weeks back. The man in the photo is actually the make-up artist and hairstylist for the event. We already posted the clarification on the FB page. We also sent an apology to the make-up artist."
"And the one who made the article?"
"Still under investigation, Ma'am. We'll get an update as soon as they find something."
Leni was now biting her lip and was smiling. She now knew that Risa and her can talk about it and clear things up. 
"Thank you, Annie. I appreciate everything that you've done and the whole investigation team has done."
"You're welcome po, Ma'am."
Annie went out and Leni texted Risa in excitement.
"Risa! I can prove to you na fake new yung article. Can we please clear things up now?" 
Leni couldn't wait and decided to just drop by Risa's house after work. 
Risa didn't reply to Leni's message but she was so excited to see Risa again. It has been almost a week and a half since they last talked.

*hi babies ko, sorry if di masyado maganda tong chapter na to but i hope you continue reading, Leni and Risa are just not in a good place right now, but please believe me when I say na sila talaga ang para sa isa't isa. salamat ng marami sa patuloy na pag suporta, mahal ko kayong lahat.😘💜
