"Please make sure that this face doesn't move because I know I'm going to cry because he's going to cry." The makeup artist nodded while continuing to work in the setting powder on Arya's face.
"What if he doesn't cry?" Danica questioned, teasing Arya. Arya cut her eyes over at her, trying not to frown her face and mess up the application of her makeup.
"Don't play with me, D. That man better be in distress or I'll walk out." Arya parted her lips slightly as the makeup artist started on her lipstick. "I already have cold feet a little bit."
"Cold feet about what?"
"If this is all legit or not. Sometimes I get in my head and I feel a little self conscious about our relationship. Like, am I being stupid? I really love this man, but am I letting my love for him cloud my mind from the bigger picture? I shouldn't be thinking like this on my wedding day. I just can't help myself." Arya released a sigh, hating that she was still having these thoughts. She felt like she looked past all the signs the first time and she didn't want to do it again. With the way she feels about Ethan she knew it wouldn't be hard for him to pull something on her again and she was afraid of that, because she knew she couldn't stop herself from loving him.
"I mean, you two have only been together for three months, Ry, and y'all were off for about a month of that. It's going to take longer than that to get these thoughts out of your head for good. The only thing that's going to fix it is consistent communication and reassurance. Don't hide these fears from him either, but also don't voice them to him on your wedding day."
"Yeah, you're right. Let me read over my vows. It'll help ease my nerves." Arya pulled out her phone, but before she could even pull up her notes app she was interrupted by an unwanted guest.
"Arya?" Amira's voice called out through the suite, causing Arya to roll her eyes.
"Please, no." Ary pleaded, knowing whatever she's about to say is going to kill the good mood Danica just helped talk her into. "Can you give us a moment?" Arya asked her makeup artist and Danica. The makeup artist quickly filled in the bow of Arya's lip before stepping out of the room. Danica turned her nose up at Amira, not trusting her intentions. However, she still respected her best friend's wishes and stepped out of the room, closing the door behind her.
"What do you want, Amira?"
"Ry, I feel like I should still be in the wedding. We're sisters at the end of the day, and we always talked about how our big days were going to be and I don't want us to look back years from now regretting that we weren't together during this day." Arya took a deep breath, preparing herself for what she was about to say.
"Amira, to be completely honest with you you're lucky you even still have an invite to my wedding. I no longer feel obligated to include you in anything I'm doing. You most likely will never hear from me again after you move to Japan. That's how strongly I feel about protecting my peace from you. Now, kindly go sit with mom and the rest of the guest or escort yourself out of the venue. You aren't about to ruin my day for me." She was sure to keep direct contact with Amira as she spoke to show her how serious she is. Amira narrowed her eyes, wanting nothing more than for her sister to feel how embarrassed she feels in this moment.
