I gulped the last of my drink and wiped my mouth as I set the cup down. They were still talking. What does that mean? Before I could think further, a hand landed on my shoulder.

"Princess!" I relaxed as I turned around and saw the blonde mess slightly hiding chocolate eyes. "You made it!" His smile was so cute I found my lips moving up on their own.

"Are you intoxicated?"

His lips pursed, "I've had two beers, but my tolerance is higher than that. I'm just a tad buzzed."

I giggled, "Yeah, okay."

His head tilted and he raised an eyebrow, "Are you intoxicated?"

"Just a tad bit." I leaned forward and basically pinched my fingers together to show just how much I meant.

He rolled his eyes before walking over to the refrigerator. He pulled out a water bottle and opened it when he stood in front of me again. "Here, you'll thank me later."

"You're wrong, I'm thanking you now. Thank you." I took a mouth full of water as he chuckled. I grabbed the lid from his fingers and smiled at him, "I'm sorry I acted so weird when you took me to your cliff."

He shook his head, "No, I was acting-"

I cut him off, "I haven't been getting the best sleep, so I haven't been thinking straight." His lips turned down and my own followed his, "I'm sorry I acted-"

"It's fine." He cut me off and smiled down at me. "It's in the past, let's leave it at that."

My eyebrows raised, "Oh, okay."

His smile wavered as he glanced away from me, "I just saw someone I know, I'm gonna go say hi. I'll see you later."

"Ok-" I blinked as he walked away before I could finish speaking. My eyebrows furrowed as my thoughts made me question what just happened. I could have sworn his smile seemed forced. I shook my head, a smile lifting my lips. Nah, I'm just tipsy. I'm reading too much into things when there's nothing to read into.

"What's a pretty girl doing all alone?"

I blinked as the guy I saw dancing with that girl when I first got here started making a drink next to me, "I'm not."

His lips pursed as his eyebrow rose, "Pretty? Or alone?"

"What?" My eyebrows furrowed and my nose twitched up.

"Whether you believe me or not, you've got the cutest nose scrunch I've ever seen." He sent me a cheeky smile and I felt my cheeks heat up. "And if you aren't alone, then why are you standing by your lonesome?"

I blinked at him, "Lonesome?"

He blinked at me, before nodding slowly, "Yeah, it means-"

"-no, I know what it means, I've just never heard someone say it outside of a book." My lips twitched up.

"Oh! Then, thank you. For a second there I thought I messed up my chance with you." He wiped a hand over his brow, "Phew."

I giggled, "What chance do you mean?"

He leaned his hip against the counter and took a long sip of his drink, his eyes glinting at me over the rim. He shrugged after pulling the cup away from his lips, "The chance to ask you to dance with me."

I narrowed my eyes on him playfully, "And why should I dance with you?"

"Because I'm some low life who saw you walk in and get dazed by my friend's dancing and couldn't help but find a good time to make you notice me." His cheeky grin had me biting back a grin of my own.
