CHAPTER 3

-----
TW: kidnapping/signs of great stress

1981

In little under a year, you and Michael began to hang out together quite often. Whether it be in the row of benches or in Fredbear's Family Diner (which was the only place in the town that had life in it), you two enjoyed the time together.

Of course, it's been almost three years since the Afton's moved into town. Gabriel was now 8 years old and has made several friends in school, along with next door neighbors Evan and Elizabeth Afton. Gabriel started to get out his shell more and more, so much so that he began hanging out with school friends almost every Saturday. Sundays were always reserved for the Afton kids.

So when Gabriel excitingly went up to you one day holding out a card, you knew it was going to be an event Gabriel would go to.

"Susie invited me to her birthday party!"

You smiled at Gabriel as you took the card to see the date and location of the party. However, you whined at the location.

Fredbear's Family Diner.

Even though you've been going there more often with Michael, it didn't mean the place freaked you out any less. For some reason, the place never stuck with you like it did with the rest of the community. The air always felt thick and awful, especially if William Afton was working on the floor inside the Spring Bonnie animatronic suit.

"Are you sure you want to go to the party Gabe?" You asked, hoping your little brother would change his mind a say no.

"Of course. Besides, I've always wanted to go to the diner."

You bit your lip. It was true that you've been trying your absolute hardest to keep Gabriel away from that place. But now it was practically inevitable. Gabriel was invited to a birthday party and he was already excited to go. So, pushing the horrible feeling in your stomach, you gave Gabriel a shaky smile and a nod.

"You can go only if I accompany you. Got it?"

Gabriel almost flew in the air in happiness as he ran to his room to 'pick out the perfect outfit' as he said, even though the party wasn't until this weekend.

You sighed as you went to the phone to call Michael.

"Afton household this is Evan Afton." You heard the young boy say in his most serious tone. You had to contain your giggle. He was probably told to seem older over the phone by his mom in case a stranger was calling.

"Hey Evan. How's your summer going?"

There was a bit of silence before Evan's voice perked up in his usual squeaky tone.

"Y/N! I'm having a lot of fun with Elizabeth. When can Gabe come over?"

"Don't be so impatient Ev. You know very well he'll be there on Sunday like always. Hey listen, could you pass me over to your brother please? I would like to talk to him."

"Sure thing! MICHAEL!"

You had to quickly remove the phone from your ear in pain. You were about to scold Evan for yelling over the phone when you heard shuffling and a cough.
