"I can't believe the wedding was canceled."
"Don't you think she's faking her sickness so the wedding wouldn't happen?"
"Nonsense! i'm sure there's a real reason why the wedding was canceled."
"Poor lord Ayato, i'm sure he's devastated after what happened to his fiancé."

The news about the bride to be spread fast in the city. people could only whisper and talk about the topic since it's the only thing that can be in their mind.

Though they could've minded their own business, people just can't keep their own mouth shut.

Back in the Yuki estate, the head of the clan was sitting in his office. he was with all the other men in the family, as well as Ayato.

"This wasn't no accident."

One of the uncles said as he was seated with all the other men.

"(Y/n) simply can't just be sick when she felt fine before it occurred. something or someone must've done something to her body, no?"

Ayato furrowed his brows, "but i don't recall her having any enemies, let alone someone hating her."

"At first, i thought it was food poisoning, but you don't stay bedridden for weeks and cough up blood," her grandfather spoke while massaging his temples. "after examining her body further, we found some strange things. she had-"

"My lord!"

Two guards barged in the office which startled the rest of the men.

"What is it that disrupts this important meeting!?" the grandfather sternly spoke which flinched the two guards.

"S-She's missing!"

"Who?" Ayato asked as he quickly stood up.

"Lady (Y/n), is missing!"
