Yanfei's Pov :
"Yanfei, who's that Ningguang ? Is she the woman from that time where I got kicked out ?"
Hearing Hu Tao, I panicked, and looked for something good to change the subject. I didn't want to talk about her, not right now. But I knew Hu Tao wouldn't let me change the subject, her eyes were looking straight at me. I sighed.
"Well, she's.. a friend I guess." 
Hu Tao furrowed her eyebrows, she didn't seems to trust my lie. She took my sweaty hand in hers, af if she was telling me it was okay to tell her everything. I was tired. Tired of the lies, tired of Ningguang's behavior.
And so I told Hu Tao everything I hid for years about her.
"Okay um, I met her in my first year in university, she was in her last year or something like that. And we somehow became friends, at that time she was already dating someone so I wasn't on guard with her." My voice was shaky and I was afraid that it'd break anytime, but the director pressed my hands, hers were warm and it relaxed me a lot.
"But like, y'know I guess at one point I started to relax too much around her and when I was in my third year, she asked me if I wanted her to make a famous lawyer. In exchange she wanted some services and I didn't really get it back then, so I accepted and signed a contract and now I'm here."
I stopped and blamed my old self for being stupid. Hu Tao stayed silent for a long moment, she looked at me with round eyes, she seemed in shock. A few times, she oppened her mouth and closed it, like if she was about to say something but didn't want to.
"Hu ? You okay ?" 
She looked at me then sighed, she was about to say something - for real this time - when I heard my phone rings, I picked and heard the last person I wanted to hear : Ningguang. 
"Hi dear, I know it's late but can you come to my place right now ? I need your help for something."
My mind went dizzy, how should I answer, wanted to run away so bad, the sound of her voice was hurting my ears. I looked at Hu Tao who asked who it was.
"Yanfei ?" Ningguang called my name since I didn't answered to her. 
"Okay, I'm on my way Ningguang."
Hu Tao's Pov :
Hearing the name of the woman we were just talking about, I took Yanfei's phone from her hand before she could say anything else and spoke.
"Hi, umm.. Y-yanfei isn't available right now she's with me. And could you stop to call her this late ? It's f*cking 3:00 am."
Without waiting for the woman's answer I hung up and pushed Yanfei's phone away. She hadn't moved at all since I took the phone. She was getting sweaty and was shaking - a lot - and so I patted her back before pulling her for a hug. She immediatly hugged me back and rested her head on my neck. I could feel her shaking. She was so vulnerable at the moment. I never saw her in this state.
"Hu, what do I do now, she's definitively mad, and she forbade me to see you."
"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find something, and y'know why don't you end things with her ? I mean you'll lose your high place but she would no longer stick with you right ?"
I tried to convice her but she sighed. 
"It's not that easy, I tried before but she blackmailed me, she knows too much things on me."
I looked for a good plan for breaking their relationship, but I didn't know much about the woman so I couldn't get anything good to stop her. Yanfei let go of my hug and sat in front of me with a serious face.
"Hu, that was really sweet, thanks. But I can't run away from Ningguang, she's crazy."
She then started to go out of the bedroom but I grabbed her arm.
"Where are you going ? Are you stupid or what ? You know it's by acting like that she can use you, right ?"
Yanfei's eyes widened before she pulled her arm of my hold. She shouted.
"And what am I supposed to do then ? Do you have any idea of what she's capable ?!"
I shushed her with my hand as an idea finally came out of my dumb brain.
"No I've no idea, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't know where I live right ?"
Yanfei nodded as I didn't let her talk, her eyebrows were furrowed.
"So she won't find us if you live here, am I right ?"
Her eyes widened, she pushed my hand from her mouth.
"W-wait, are you telling me to stay at your place until we have a plan ?"
I smiled shyly and took her hands in mine again.
"Well not specially mine but like, a place of anyone she doesn't know is fine right ?"
Yanfei paused for a minute. 
"U-um, your place is fine but, are you sure I can ?"
I smiled and nodded.
