As the words left his lips..
it was as if your whole life had just came crashing down on top of you. 
'I'm not in love with you' 
"That's-.." You shook your head, forcing a laugh as you felt your stomach instantly tighten, "That's not funny, Levi." 
You acted as if it was a joke, but his cold face said otherwise. 
You carried on: "You're only hurting me.. seriously. Stop." 
He brushed hair from his eyes, his head shaking with a cold sigh, "It's not a joke. I've never loved you; I never will. I was ordered to begin a relationship with you so that you could get attached and wouldn't think about leaving Paradis Island," Each word that fell from his mouth only damaged your heart more, "Our relationship was strictly one sided; you were a fool to fall for it so quickly, and for so long." 
Your e/c eyes suddenly began to water, your throat feeling tight.. 
You parted your lips to speak, but no noise came out. 
You'd never felt pain like this before..
Levi didn't love you. 
Levi Ackerman had never loved you. 
You struggled to believe it. 
those nights you'd shared together: making love or even just telling jokes, it was all part of a plan to manipulate you into staying on the 'right' side of a war?
Did you really mean nothing to him, when he meant everything to you? 
"You're lying. Tell me that you're lying, Levi!" 
"I'm not lying." His voice only brought more tears to your eyes, "I'm.. sorry you made the mistake of actually falling for our plan. I never planned on taking it this far. I also never planned on marrying you; we were just going to wait it out until your thirteen years were over, but now that you no longer have a titan there's no need to lie to you anymo-"
Your body shot up from the comfort of the seat as his silver eyes widened, his chin tilted up to look at you with shock in his silver eyes. 
"Stop it.. Stop it now!"
He scoffed with repulse towards you, "Why? Am I hurting your feelings?" His eyes rolled coldly, dusting off the ends of his jacket as if he thought of you as nothing but a chore, "I'm not being cruel; I'm just being honest with you. If anything, you should be thanking me." 
Your fingers curled into tight fists: nails digging into your palms harshly, "I know that you're hurting because of everything that's happened the past few weeks! I get it! But don't you dare try to push me away, too, Levi! Don't try and hurt me just because you're hurting.." 
He slowly breathed in as more tears slipped from your eyes, staining your cheeks a crimson red. 
His nails embedded into the arm rests of his wheelchair, his teeth were gritted sharply as if he was in some sort of pain. 
"Yaeger.." He muttered your family name coldly, his head shaking, "I-.. I genuinely, with all of my being, hate you." He scoffed sadistically with a sigh of relief as your fingers pressed against your lips, "God.. it feels good to finally say that to you. You're so gullible it's unbelievable. It made me feel physically sick each day to pretend that I had any sort of romantic interest towards you! I felt disgusted in myself." 
His angry expression suddenly faded away as he watched the tears fall against your lips. 
You slipped the ring off of your ring finger, placing it against the coffee table beside him. 
You shook your head, attempting to wipe back tears but there were too many to control. 
You muttered his name as if he was a stranger to you, "I never want to see you're face again.." Your voice trembled with tears. 
He lowered his head with a hint of shame, a mask upon your finger where the ring had been for the past couple of months, "I expected you to say that." 
You took a step back, more tears filling your eyes as you began to open the door, "I'm sorry I made the mistake of falling in love with you, Levi Ackerman."
