New years was just around the corner, the feeling of abundance and happiness was all I could feel at this time of the year. My lips became a smirk as I walked into a shop full of homemade misc. and necessities. A light breeze hit, as I walked through the glass door, hit by the smell of citrus and coconuts.
The wooden-themed shop was an aesthetically pleasing place to be. They sold homemade candles and soaps, my best friend suggested this place to my mother once, she shops here for everything even her own perfumes ever since then.
I glanced through the displays at the front walking past wooden cases of soaps, moisturizers, and lotions, and walked to the home decor area. Housing homemade pillows, blankets, and more. I couldn't help but continuously look around as I shopped, picking up things I assumed my mother would appreciate or like, placing it in an accustomed tote bag they give to shoppers to hold their things, and walking to the register.
My attention was stolen by a raven-haired man standing at the front with beautiful deep blue eyes and a piercing gaze.
His hair was curly and his clothing, a white buttoned-up shirt underneath a brown apron as required of every cashier at this store with cuffed sleeves showing his muscles as he cleaned off the wooden stand he stood behind. His toned skin contrasted with the blue of his eyes, once he finished cleaning he threw the wipe away and clapped his hands off automatically before looking in my direction. We made eye contact which sent shivers down my spine, his lips were blushing pink and his face seemed more tanned than before as if he was blushing from me.
I coughed to myself clearing my throat as I walked forward slowly, he seemed a bit intrigued and just stared too.
Before some woman walked in front of me and got to the register first, scarring both of us out of our concentration on each other. He blinked his eyes as she asked "Hi young man do you guys perhaps sell any scarfs or mittens? You see my daughter, who's a model, got a new job on the outskirts of here and needs something to keep her warm. Did I mention she's a model?" His face looked uninterested at the woman's words but he sighed and smiled, "Yes you did, she must be a very lovely girl," he stated as he bagged the woman's items.
His smile was so pretty, I could tell he was just wanting to get his shift over with, but his smile. I stood behind the woman patiently as she tried to set him up with her daughter. He politely declined to say he wasn't "Into girls" and looked right at me with a smirk. He had such a pretty face, I'd ruin it.
I smiled back at him as the woman walked away defeated, sliding forward, and chuckled.
"Thanks for letting me know," I said, grabbing items out of my tote bag and placing them on the stand for him to scan. He gazed at the things I was purchasing and I saw him flinch a bit "This is a weird question but do these happen to be for your girlfriend?" he points at the perfume and blanket hesitantly. I laughed at his response, wiping a fake tear away. "They're for my mother, her birthday is on New Year," He nodded, the curls of his hair moving as he did so, he was a pretty sight.
The name tag against his chest read "Akaashi" I smiled as he packed my bags as I was the last and only person in the store besides him. "So Akaashi" he blushed at my pronunciation, not stopping from bagging everything. "Yes customer?" he smiled as he kept bagging, "Bokuto, Bokuto Koutaro is my name" I smiled at his reaction which was to look up with a blush and immediately go back to bagging my mothers birthday items.
His face held an innocent look one that was beautiful and soft. I could tell he wanted to know more about me from his posture, the look he gave me was innocent and soft as he packed bags and my eyes wandered from his eyes to his hands. Beautiful hands of tan and light brown. Kindly I paid and he handed my receipt with a smile. "I'll see you later Akaashi" I stated smiling, he gave me a beautiful glace up and down then he said "See you later Bokuto Koutaro" whispering a small thing and pointing at my hand. I was a bit confused but looked and saw the receipt. It had his number. One i'd cherish for the rest of my life.
