Gong Jun turned away from the bone chilling night wind which threatened to mess up his hair. His teeth chattering, he ran and hid behind a wall.
"Yeah Feng-ge, we got issued a cold front warning here in Shanghai. The temperature is expected to go below zero." He blinked his eyes hard to wet them. "It's really tough doing an outdoors shoot in winter."
He listened as Xu Feng updated him on his situation in Hengdian. It wasn't that much better either. Xu Feng had bragged that it was a balmy 16 degrees celsius when he arrived in Hengdian, but with the super cold front which blitzed across China over the Christmas weekend, he regretted his words.
"Thank goodness I am not filming that Hou Yi drama. I am now fully covered up and can stick heat pads in my costume."

Gong Jun guffawed loudly. He remembered Xu Feng's bare-shouldered, toga-like costume when he filmed his last drama in the summer. He could not imagine wearing that skimpy costume while filming in the dead of winter. But if the script called for it actors had no choice but to drink hot water, stick as many heating pad as possible, and then grin and bare it.
"When are you taking your break from your filming?" Xu Feng asked. "Are you sure you are the male lead? Why are you allowed to take so much time off?"
"I don't consider myself the male lead here, Feng-ge." Gong Jun modestly replied. "There are so many veteran actors, and their acting skills are top notch. I can't even begin to describe how awesome they are. I'm just here to make up the numbers."
"Anyway the project team knows my schedule. They know that I am now also a....singer."

Both of them laughed. Gong Jun had been invited by many platforms to perform at their galas or countdown shows. These shows are usually pre-recorded in advance, and broadcast to the home audience at the appointed date and time.
For many celebrities, especially the professional singers, it was the busiest time of the year. They had the countdown to 2022, and one month after that was Spring Night, followed by Lantern Festival 15 days later. In between these three big dates were random galas like China Online Movie Week. They would be endlessly shuttling from one city to the next, rehearsing and recording their segments.
