Two friends on a ride to hell

Wooyoung pressed the accelerator impossibly hard, causing the car to race into the woods. Seonghwa screamed next to him, he looked back at the massive animal that was chasing them. It was a wolf-like animal, not exactly a wolf, much more scarier. It had red eyes that glared at them, its mouth opened every time it tried to catch the car, revealing fangs that dripped loathsome saliva. The sound of it running at this speed was itself horrifying. The animal jumped at the car once again, this time causing the rear glass to shatter. Wooyoung looked at Seonghwa, horrified.
"Just keep going!" Seonghwa shouted over the noises.
They drove deeper into the woods, not getting a chance to do anything else. After a few more minutes, the filthy creature was joined by two more of its kind. "We die today! It was nice knowing you!", Wooyoung shouted as he realised.
"Shut up! Don't stop." Seonghwa shouted back.

A few more minutes in, and one of the creatures went down, only two chased them now. A second later, all three of the animals were down. Suddenly, a man landed in front of them, forcing Wooyoung to step on the brake so bad that Seonghwa hit his head on the car (guys, always wear your seatbelt, Seonghwa is stupid). They looked at each other, and stepped out of the car, just to see that this man was now joined by another, who held a bow in one hand and a quiver strapped to his back.
"What a weird way to enter the campus!" he exclaimed, looking at the other man.
"I know right?" the other agreed.
"Are y'all okay though? Is anyone hurt?" the man with the bow asked.
"We are okay." Wooyoung replied. "But what the hell was that? Did you shoot them down?"
"Yes! Great, wasn't I? By the way they were Nefari (pronounced Ni-fay-rye), they are just stupid monsters, don't mind them. By the way, I am Jongho, Choi Jongho." he held out his hand, Wooyoung and Seonghwa took turns to shake it.
"Can I know what you guys are doing here in the middle of a forest, this late at night, trying to shoot down what you call monsters?!" Wooyoung threw all his questions at once.
"Little guy, calm down." the other man spoke now. "You might not know, but you're also one of us. Or you wouldn't even be able to see the Nefari. And you aren't here by accident, both of you are meant to be here. Welcome to Camp Harbour." the man said.
"He is Kang Yeosang. Better listen to him, he is a wise guy." Jongho said.
"Wise?" Wooyoung asked. Yeosang just gave him a smile, neither denying nor accepting the fact.
"Why do things happen then, wise guy?" Wooyoung asked, doing all the talking.
"What do you mean?" Yeosang asked.
"I mean why do things just happen? Can't they not happen?" Wooyoung implied.
"Little guy, things not happening is also a thing happening, isn't it?" Yeosang said calmly.
Wooyoung smiled and nudged Yeosang, "Wise guy you are." he said.
"Wait, do you guys have your phones with you?" Jongho interrupted.
"Yes, in the car."
Jongho rushed to the car and took out their phones, then threw them hard on the ground, jumped and stomped on them.
"What are you doing!" Wooyoung picked up his broken phone.
"I had to, unless you want a whole army of Nefari here." Jongho said.
"What do you mean?" Seonghwa spoke for the first time.
"Phones or any electronic gadgets can give the Nefari your exact location. Want that?" Jongho answered.
"Guys, it's not safe for us to be here. We can go inside and talk." Yeosang said.
"Yeah, come over."
They started walking, Jongho led them. The path was full of shrubs and thorns, it was really difficult to walk in a forest at night, Wooyoung managed to walk face first into a tree. Surprisingly, Yeosang and Jongho were having no difficulty.
"By the way, you're Park Seonghwa, right?" Yeosang asked, but pointed at Wooyoung.
"That's me." Seonghwa said.
"I am Jung Wooyoung." the shorter said. "How do you know us?"
"We were already informed you guys would be coming." Yeosang replied.
"What? How?" Wooyoung asked.
"Whenever new students are about to join us, we are informed, but we don't know how they'll join us. Guess you were unfortunate enough to have three Nefari chase you to the camp."
"And students don't themselves know that they're joining? What the fuck are you even talking about?" Wooyoung cussed.
"Hey! Language! Don't curse at the camp or you'll regret it." Jongho spoke this time.
"But hey, wherever you guys are taking us, what about our parents? They would worry-" Seonghwa spoke.
"They are already informed, letters are sent. And one of your parents was a magician, that's why you're here. They won't worry about you, they probably trained here when they were young too." Yeosang explained.
Great. His parents were magicians and he's only learning this because of some weird dude who's hunting down monsters in the middle of the forest. Just great. Seonghwa thought to himself.
"Are you saying my mom was a magician?" Wooyoung asked, horrified.
"Or your dad, I don't know." Yeosang replied.
No one spoke anything for a minute. Jongho broke the silence, "You guys are going to get sorted into a house once we reach the camp. Pray you don't get Fire."
"Eh?"
"There are four houses, Fire, Water, Air and Earth. He's just saying that he hopes you don't get sorted into the Fire house, they have a bad impression you know." Yeosang said.
"Oh, you guys keep telling me I am a magician, but I have never even once-" Seonghwa started to say something.
"You start having the abilities only in your teenage years, that's why you're here, to unleash your magical abilities. After all, you have to protect yourself from the Nefari, the older you get, the more they attack you."
All this was slowly sinking in, when they stopped in front of a huge wooden gate. 'Camp Harbour' was etched in huge letters. Fire torches burned on either sides of the wooden wall, making the surroundings clearly visible.
"You can see the gate, right?" Jongho asked.
Both Seonghwa and Wooyoung nodded.
"Great, this proves you both sure are magicians. Normal people wouldn't even be able to see this. And once again, welcome to Camp Harbour!" Yeosang exclaimed.
Seonghwa gulped, he couldn't believe something like this existed right here in the middle of a forest. Wooyoung was staring at the gate with his mouth open and eyes widened.
"Let's get inside." Jongho said and pushed the gate.
