x DEMON x

I watch as the bus leaves me behind, feeling like the angriest person on the planet.

"You den fucked up, Laura," I huffed.

By the time I pull up to Northwest High in my black Aston Martin, it's time for lunch. I had to stay home for a bit and plan and plot, grateful that by the time I had went back home, that my parents had been gone. I knew there was a reason my black ass shouldn't have tried to ride the bus today, but no, Dior and Syn insisted that we ride for the second day of school too.

I should know better than to listen to them.

Everybody has their eyes on me as I park my car and walk up to lunch. I show the admin my ID and they let me enter the cafeteria. I skip the line to buy me an orange juice and some chips. "Demon. You made it," Dior nodded at me. Syn's by her side, a conflicted expression on her face. "You saw the bitch?" I ask, referring to Laura. "Yeah, we knew you would come," Dior shrugged, "It's your call."

"Yeah, what you wanna do to her?" Syn asked, nibbling on a French fry.

We slowly started walking back towards the doors that led outside, the way I had came in. I could feel eyes on us but that was nothing new. "I've done some digging on shawty. She's known for her fighting back at Southwest." We stop before we reach the doors that lead to the courtyard, staring at Laura and her friends through a big window. You can't see in, but we can see out. "So what's the strategy?" Dior asked me.

"Deal with her friends, and watch her crumble," I state coldly. "Nobody fucks with me."

"Yes daddy," Syn smirks, leaning her head on my shoulder. Dior watches her coldly, and raises a brow up at me. "Bathroom?" she mouthed.

I nod slightly, wrapping my arm over Syn's shoulder.

After lunch, and after my bathroom time with Dior, I head to class, planning out what I'll have happen to Laura's friends in my head. "Khloe," a voice called out. I was passing by the office, and Mrs. Seabarn had her head cocked out of the doorway.

My lips curved into the perfect smile.

Poor, poor Laura.

"I see," Mrs. Seabarn said after taking in my detailed story of Laura's behavior. "I'll call her in today to talk to her about that. Shoving you out the way so that you miss the bus, saying harsh words to you, and bringing alcohol onto campus," she shook her head. "Those Southwest kids have got to learn. But luckily, we have amazing student leaders such as yourself to help with cases such as these. I won't suspend her this time because I know that's not what you want, but she will receive a warning."

I keep a perfect smile on my face although I'm confused as to where Mrs. Seabarn is going with this.

"Surely you don't expect me to keep being her buddy," I laugh nervously.

"No, I don't," she says, and I breathe out a sigh of relief, "I want you to become her friend and help her through the rough times her mental must be going through." Mrs. Seabarn stood up and produced a packet that was a black and white copy of a former book. "Try sitting with her at lunch and learning her hobbies. After school on Friday's, I'd like for you to join me and Laura for her required check in's. But don't tell her," the counselor waggled her finger in my face, "I want it to be a surprise. I think you two will make great friends! You're so alike."

I give the woman my best smile and take the packet before I end her life, "I'll try my best, Mrs. Seabarn."

My smile cracks in half as soon as I'm out of her eye sight and out of the office area. It seems like I've dug myself into a deeper hole.
