Reader's POV

I was in a crouched position in the broken down arcade, proudly wearing my new white, Valhalla jacket. I looked up to the chair Hanma sat it as he talked about the battle between Toman and Valhalla. His lips were moving, but I didn't hear a word coming out of his mouth.

My mind was fixated on getting my revenge on Mikey, fixated on the different ways I would beat him into a pulp. Fixated on the different ways I could make him feel my pain. The pain of betrayal.

A small smile formed on my lips as I imagined myself punching his goofy, little face; over and over and over and over.

When I woke myself up from my daydream, all eyes were on me. I looked around, confused as a lost puppy. Hanma noticed my disoriented face. "I was just talking about how you would help us destroy Toman. If you were listening, I wouldn't have to repeat my words." He stated harshly, his golden eyes boring into mine. Is he trying to intimidate me or something? I thought. I looked at him lazily, then at the hundreds of eyes staring at me, stupidly. "Yeah, whatever." I mumbled.

Cheers erupted in the small room, bottles clinked against each other, cigars were lit. "We can crush Toman, easy! But with her it'll be even easier!" a voice cheered in the middle of the sea of people. That was my problem with Valhalla. They were too cocky, not humble enough. With Toman, they thought out a plan, tried to even the odds, knowing there was a chance they'd lose. The thought made me feel a bit homesick.

I shook the thought away. Toman lost me a long time ago. There was no going back. I wrinkled my nose at the thought of going back to my old gang... and at the smell of cigarette smoke wafting through the air. I looked out the broken window, longing to get out of the foul-smelling arcade.

After a few minutes of Valhalla's nonsensical cheering, I grew sick of it. I stood up abruptly from the hardwood floor I sat on before and walked out the door.

I took a stroll around, looking at the designs of the new shops I had never seen before. I looked to the sidewalk across from me and my heart leapt to my throat. There he was, standing on the sidewalk, looking at the weeds growing along the road.

Mikey.

I narrowed my eyes and continued to walk, each step increasing in speed. I shoved my hands in my Valhalla jacket's pockets. I heard his cheery voice call out to me, as if nothing happened between us. I continued to stomp away from him. His voice grew more and more persistent, as his voice grew louder and clearer. I noted that he was catching up to me. I quickened my pace, ducking my head.

It was no use, he grabbed my shoulder, spinning me around to look at him. Jeez, where'd he come from?! "What's with the jacket?" he inquired. He gave me a smile.

"Didn't you hear me before? I said I was leaving Toman for Valhalla?"

"You were obviously joking. Didn't know you'd actually do it." Mikey muttered, shuffling his feet. The look of betrayal on his face brought me great pleasure. "C'mon. Come back." he pleaded, taking my hand in his, like he did at the festival. I pulled my hand back, wiping it on pants. "No." I said bluntly.

I turned around and started walking away.

"B-But, Y/n!" He protested, chuckling nervously. "You have to!"

I whirled around. "And why is that?" I asked him angrily. "What gives you the right to say that to me, after what you said? You're not my commander anymore, Mikey. I don't have to listen and obey like a dog anymore."

"What-?"

"That's all I was to you, right? Just someone you could order around and do your dirty work for you? I was disposable, and once the Moebius conflict was over, I was no longer of use to you. So you just had to wait for the perfect excuse to get rid of me, isn't that right?"

"Y/n," Mikey sighed. "That's not even close to what I think about you."

"Keep feeding me with your lies, Mikey, just like before. But this time, I'm not listening." And with that, I turned on my heel and walked away, leaving Mikey speechless and heartbroken.

Mikey's POV

I realised at that moment, I had lost a very, very dear friend of mine, to my enemies. And that... made her my enemy now, too.
