Chapter 2: Unlucky (2)

                                    

                                          
The next day, There was chickeleta who got stuck on the town hall roof. I climbed up and got her, but ended up slipping on my ladder and bumpily falling down on my ladder and accidentally fell hard on top of Chase.
....
Then there was the new building being constructed who's support beam somehow got damaged and fell over. I got my EMT gear and checked on everyone. But overdid the bandage thing and put them all on cones... Even though they're human..
And I miiiiiiight've also accidentally caused a pile of planks to fall on rubbles rig when I tripped on a hard hat... Which totally wrecked it.
Ryder said he can fix it but it would take a long time. But Rubble was visibly upset about it.
...
And finally there's the rescue on Jake's mountain. Some snowboarders got stuck on a ledge. I was supposed to be there to check on them. But when I was preparing my bandages my paw slipped and one roll of it rolled away. And here comes the worst part... It got tangled on Everests' snowboard. And she accidentally stumbled down. And broke her left front paw. 
It pains me just to think of it again.... 
She said she'll be okay, but... Maybe they're right. These days... Things haven't been going my way. 
...
Right after that we got back. I asked if anyone of them wanted to play a game. But they just answered with, "No thanks Marshall we're too tired today." And walked off. I didn't take it to heart. But everyone seemed about something. Is it because of me?...

End of flashback...
In the afternoon I kept thinking. I wanted to make it up to them but I'm not sure how. Maybe do them some favors perhaps? Yeah that could work.
I came to everyone of them, and asked if there's anything I can do for them. But they're answers were just, "No thanks." , "It's okay you don't need to.", "there's nothing sorry." And then they got back In they're pup houses. The strange thing is that they all seem to look irritated when they came out and saw me...
...
Right after dinner I noticed that all of them suddenly disappeared. I looked around but couldn't find them. I thought maybe they all just went right back to they're pup-houses to catch some sleep. So I went back to mine and did the same.
...
Late at night I was feeling a little thirsty and my mouth was dry. Water sounds good right now. 
I quietly got out and walked inside. However I noticed that the first floors light was on. 
I wonder who could be up this hour?
I silently peeked around the corner. And was surprised to see that all the Pups were there.
Why are they all here so late at night?
I thought confused. I was about to come out but I heard Rocky speak.
"Is everyone here?" 
Everyone looked around and nodded. 
"And Marshall?" 
"I checked on him, he's already asleep." Rubble replied.
"Good."
"Remind me why we're all here again? And why so late at night? And why isn't Marshall here?" Chase asked outright, wiping his eyes.
"Because this meeting is about him." 
"What?" 
What? 
I thought surprised. 
Why would they have a meeting about me? And why wasn't I invited? 
Despite my urge to just ask, I was curious so I held it and kept listening.
"Well, we all know what he's like these past few days." 
"Yeah, the dude's getting clumsier by the minute, and it's beginning to become a problem." Zuma commented.
"A ... Problem?" 
"Yeah just this morning he crashed on to me while I was eating and spilt all my food!" Rubble complained.
"Well he is acting a lot more troublesome than usual." Skye said in thought 
"Troublesome ?..." 
" And he acts immaturely at that! He keeps using almost the same puns. It's getting old. It's like dealing with a kid." Rocky added.
"Immature ?..." 
"Hey come on he's still our friend. Besides he doesn't mean all of that." Chase said trying to defend me. 
"I know but I just wish he'd act more responsible from his own actions. We can't just keep blaming it on his clumsiness, he should try'na do somethin'  'bout it too! Even you have to admit that." Zuma retorted. Chase stayed silent.
"... Am... Am I hearing this right?... They think I'm..."
Before I could finish my thoughts I heard them start talking again.
"I'll have to agree with them on this one." Skye said looking down. "Our jobs get harder because of him and sometimes it's better if we leave him out of it." 
I was shocked. Even Skye? 
Some you might not know this but I currently have a crush on her. I know I know Chase likes her already but it's hard controlling my feelings okay?!
"I hate to say this but... I don't know why Ryder picked him to be a rescue pup. Maybe it's better if we just leave him out of rescues for a while.
And..... honestly? Maybe for good." Rocky said with a sigh.
My eyes widened. 
They think that I'm just trouble? That I shouldn't have been in the team? They.... They....
Unknowingly I felt something trickle down my face. 
"Tears?..."
