Sydney
"I want to preface I hate surprises. You know I hate surprises." I pleaded, as Harry walked around the living room.
"Just relax baby. You surprise me all the time and I never get to surprise you." Harry pouted, throwing me my jacket to put on quickly.
Harry had been bugging me all week, dropping hints about where he was going to take me this Saturday. He claimed it was a birthday surprise but considering my birthday was 2 weeks away, I wasn't convinced.
It was officially summer now, so I was wearing my white baggy jeans and a tight white corset top to match. Harry said to dress comfortably, and that he knew I'd always have a great outfit under my sleeve.
I was sat on his sofa, nervously tapping my heal on the floor. He casually walked through the house putting things in his pockets, laughing at me.
"Just relax amore mio. All will be revealed soon." He laughed walking off towards his bedroom, leaving me to my thoughts.
I huffed, lying back on the sofa. I hated waiting, I felt like a kid again.
I'd arrived at Harry's house a couple hours ago to get ready. We went out to lunch at The Churchill Arms and walked through Hyde Park this afternoon and headed to Harry's around 3.
Since then, he'd been teasing me with different scenarios just to stress me out. He loved to see me sweat.
Suddenly my overthinking was interrupted by Harry's doorbell. I looked confusingly to it. I hadn't heard anyone buzz the gate, and Harry hadn't mentioned anyone coming over. The only way to get in was with the gate code.
I stood up and shouted to Harry upstairs, "H, someone is here!"
"It's okay, can you answer it for me?" He shouted back.
I shrugged, walking over to the door and pealing it open to expose three beaming faces. Standing before me were, Liam, Niall and Louis grinning before saying: "Harry early Birthday!"
A laugh escaped my lips, my mind in utter disbelief.
"What are you guys doing here?" I questioned, as Niall brought me into a tight embrace.
"We're just here to crash your birthday date." Louis laughed, walking into Harry's house with Liam at his side.
We all continued into the living room, sitting down onto Harry's sofa. I heard footsteps from the stairs and suddenly Harry appeared at the doorway.
"Okay what is going on, what are you guys really doing here?" I laughed, still perplexed at the current circumstances.
The boys all sat in front me of me now, exchanging glances and grins. They were all equally amused by my confusion.
"A birthday surprise..." Harry began, causing me to roll my eyes in further frustration.
"No more arguments, no more questions! We have places to go." Niall exclaimed, as they all stood up in sync.
Harry walked over to me, extending his hand with a bright grin. I took it, walking with the boys out of the house and towards a blacked out cars.
The boys squeezed in, Harry and Niall either side of me and Louis and Liam sitting across up. Throughout the drive, I threw out different ideas and places we could be going just like I had during the day. However, the boys kept quiet.
The windows were dark, but I could see us driving through Soho, further confusing me.
When we finally arrived, I felt Harry's hands cover my eyes and the doors open. I voice said, "Mr Tomlinson, just this way."
"The day has finally come, you're finally killing me." I whispered to Harry, who replied, "Shhh."
Niall takes my hand to help me out of the car, Harry's hands still covering my eyes. I could hear we were outside somewhere but quickly entered a building.
Louis and Liam led us through somewhere, greeting people on the way. It was very loud, almost like backstage somewhere. The atmosphere was very specific.
Suddenly, Niall stopped and I heard Louis say, "Alex mate, how are you?" My breath caught in my throat, and I could hear Harry chuckling behind me.
"Louis, good to see you. I'm alright." I heard a very familiar Sheffield accent.
Harry took his hands off my eyes, and standing in front of me was Alex Turner in all his glory.
"Alex, this is Sydney Lewis." Louis grinned, as Alex extended his hand to shake mine.
"Pleasure to meet you Sydney, Happy Birthday." He said, as I tried to understand what the hell was happening.
"Uh..thank you, thank you so much. Sorry, I'm a little star struck." I chuckled, and he smiled.
"You and me both. You're great, thanks for coming tonight. Hope you all have a good time." He nodded nonchalantly, before turning and walking down the corridor to join the rest of the band.
"Oh my god." I breathed, after Alex had left.
I turned to Harry, my eyebrows raised in complete disbelief.
"Good surprise?" He asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"Yeah...I'm going to need a 3-5 days to process this. But yeah, great surprise." I replied, slightly out of breath from this whole situation.
"Well it's not over yet," Liam added, "We still have the concert."
"Oh my god, really?" I said, turning to all the boys.
"Yes, let's go. We need to find out seats before the boys come out." Louis excitedly replied, taking my hand and walking us down the corridor.
A security guard led us through some backstage doors that eventually took us to a balcony section, overlooking the crowd.
Louis and I stood up against the barrier, smiling at the excited crowd. It reminded me of a few months ago when we were at Liam Gallagher's concert, in a familiar situation.
"I promise, no meltdowns tonight." I smiled, and as Louis realised what I said, brought me into a tight hug.
"Love you Syd, I'm sorry that happened. Tonight will be sick. Go see your boyfriend now, he's the reason we're all here." He nodded in Harry's direction.
I saw him and the other boys join us on the balcony, and ran into Harry's arms. He lifted my chin up and placed a kiss on my lips.
"Thank you for this baby, this is an amazing birthday surprise." I smiled, gratefully.
"This is only the beginning my love."
Before I could question him, I heard the loud drums of Fluorescent Adolescent from behind us. I turned towards the stage and saw Alex and the band coming out onto the stage.
Harry stood behind me, his arms wrapped around me as I stood against the balcony barriers. He leant down and kissed my cheek as it started.
I thought to myself as the song started, how lucky I was to have the most amazing people in my life. And how this birthday may be the best one yet.
