Everyone watched on with heated expressions and clenched fists. With what I was seeing around me, if not for this man's dominative aura and his beast mount, he'd definitely have been given a good round of pummeling.
“It is true that from the very prime of your youths, you'd all been thought the orthodox way of beast taming, which is quite mild and cute.” Madman Fei rolled his eyes after saying the last word. He then snickered, and continued, “However, for a true man, we know that there are at times certain circumstances when being mild and... cute, could lead one to one's grave. Take the beast in question, anyway.”
Everyone's eyes shifted to the beast by his side.
“Bloody Fangs Panther are prideful beasts, and are well acknowledged for this. Due to their pride, it's next to impossible to tame them without proving yourself. They're just like women, in a way.”
Some of the men began to giggle while the ladies had their attention piqued.
“Women are just as prideful as men. Not all ladies could be bought over by flowers and poems. Take my wife, for instance.” As he said it, no one could miss the emotion that displayed within his eyes. “Did you know what she said was the requirement for us to be together, back in school days?”
Everyone shook their head in interest. No one could deny being curious.
“She said, ‘If you can defeat the strongest boy in school, then you can also earn my approval.’ It is true that this might appear unreasonable, and to think it was in this very academy, Junior Academy of the Gifted, no one was a weakling. The person I had to defeat was terribly strong, and was a member of the clan with the Innate Divine Strength. Hence, I had my academy goal; to beat that fellow, to become more powerful!”
My mouth fell ajar in astonishment. ‘So this man also attended school here, back in his days?’ Thinking about his opponent, I couldn't help but let my mind wander to Zhangkong... good thing we were both on same side... hehe.
Madman Fei continued, “She gave me a deadline too. One year. Just one year. I cultivated madly, in response. My opponent and I had sparred several hundred times, before that very day when I'd finally broken the shackles of Meditation realm! Even before him! I invited some school staffs to help us regulate the match, and of course, my then to-be girlfriend was also invited. That day, I got swollen eyes and some cracked bones, but that's not what was remembered. The only thing my generation of JAG remembered was how I heroically defeated a top member of the Innate Divine Strength bloodline.
“I'm sorry I might have diverted, however I hope you all get my point. From that day forth, I learnt that sometimes, brute force is much benefiting than mildness. This beast is proud too, so what could cause faster result in taming than overpowering it with one's strength? With that clear for it to see, wouldn't it readily submit its life into your hands?”
The question was obviously not one to be answered, but pondered over. After a brief silence, a woman in her mid-twenty couldn't help but ask, “What if you mistakenly give it permanent internal injuries?”
Madman Fei eyes brightened as he tilted his head towards the window like a magnificent expert. He looked as though he was thinking back to a time when none of us present could not even dream of harbouring thoughts toward. He looked heroic and legendary, unknowingly causing the hearts of us females to melt. Now that I looked at it, this man was really handsome!
He replied with a calm voice and smiled at the one who questioned, causing her to blush, involuntarily.
“Beast taming is cultivating, cultivating is beast taming. Know this and never forget it. What good is having strength without perfect control? What good is there in pummeling something which would be yours, without having knowledge in taking care of it? What's the essence of taming, using the strength of killing? What's the true essence of taming a beast? For relieving your waist from trekking? For having a pet to fawn over you and be fed? If you can find answer to these questions and comprehend the true essence of beast taming, then the world of beast taming would have you to reckon with.”
After those words were spoken, a powerful force of bloodline energy began to rush towards my brain. It was running widely, however, I immediately felt another energy coming from my spiritual world. The Emperor Scorpion Tail Chameleon's aligned spirit was rushing towards the energy to reduce the impact. I quickly started to move my true essence cycle in accordance with the United Heavens method Old Ancestor had taught me.
I quickly closed my eyes and sat on the floor, crossed-leg. Observing my spiritual world, I finally understood what was happening. After those words Madman Fei had said, I'd suddenly be struck by a bout of epiphany in my beast taming knowledge.
The soul beast quickly helped me transfer the energy into useful brain energy. My mind began to clear from everything else. The sounds within the room began to feel farther and farther. My mind was now devoid of thoughts.
The very question of the true essence of beast taming was the only thing that caught my complete attention.
‘What was actually the need for beast taming?’
‘Why was beast taming the most powerful occupation in the whole of the Phantom Dynasty?’
Pictures began to flash across my mind.
I watched as Roy looked helpless when we were stopped by the tax collector, as it was shackled by some chains that'd sprouted from the ground.
I'd stood before my Roy, and proclaimed it to be “my savage beast”, when I was asked. Yes, that was my Roy. An insignificant bird which became a loyal beast.
At the Phantom Dynasty's city centre, Roy felt insecure by the terrifying sights of other savage beasts, but was immediately put at ease immediately after I'd connected my mind with its, using Animal Connectivity telepathy.
At the basic front of the Acorn Valley, a beast tamer was skeptical and asked to check Roy's beast-to-master trust level, and was baffled to sweat in disbelief at the result.
I thought about how well-grounded our friendship had been all those time even before Roy'd evolved into an aerial savage beast.
Yes, this was what beast taming should be. The friendship. The mutual love. The eye-bulging loyalty. The mutuality!
Unknowingly to me, as all these thoughts flooded in front of my mental eyes, the blood essence Roy had sent into my mind began to change rapidly.
He was subconsciously summoned out of my recluse ring.
After replying that question with his own question, Madman Fei's lecture had long stopped when he noticed that I was struck by an epiphany in beast taming. So when they saw my mutated savage beast (Roy) appear, all, except Madman Fei, were puzzled. The latter, on the other hand, had an expression as though he wanted to give me a bear hug at the moment. My eyes were still shut.
The people soon began to exclaim as Roy's aura suddenly changed. Its body was making a rapid bubbling, boiling sound. Its meridian pores were open for all to see it was just a Transient Mortal primary stage beast.
“Its making a breakthrough!” someone gasped with excited eyes.
‘Transient Mortal advance stage.’
‘Transient Mortal expert stage.’
‘Transcendent Mortal primary stage.’
‘Transcendent Mortal advance stage!’
Everyone was shocked.
“It broke through a whole realm... just like that?”
“Look, it's not even done evolving!”
Everyone turned to notice the bright, crimson light that was boring out of Roy's glabella. It slowly painted itself to the back of its head, then slowly down its tail. It was just a magnificent sight. Anywhere the light passed would be strengthened more than the rest of its body. Small pyramid structures appeared on the surface of the crimson colour on Roy's back. They were obviously its spines surfacing for the first time. The veins on Roy's wings became much more visible, and its aura had strengthened. Even its strength had doubled.
Although Transient Mortal realm seemed to be just below Transcendent Mortal realm, the truth was, the difference between both realms were as immense as the difference between the heavens and the earth. The strength range was a fold higher. That, definitely, wasn't something to joke about.
Roy felt invincible and glorious. Joy was all it felt at the moment. It couldn't help but glance at the unconscious, leg-crossed me with reverence.
I didn't know any of what had just happened, but I felt clearly well that Roy's blood essence in my consciousness was evolving stronger due to my line of thoughts guided by the epiphany. I could not help but smile. After the evolution ended, I opened my eyes and smiled. I felt my strength had slightly become higher, but I hadn't felt like I was going to breakthrough anytime soon.
