may, stefan and damon were moving their stuff into the lockwood house.
"just so we're clear, i'm taking the master bedroom. carol lockwood and i had a little thing. i think she'd want me to have it." damon said placing his bag on the couch.
"gross." may said as she went to find herself a bedroom.
"let's open some windows, too. reeks of dog in here, which is impressive, considering tyler's been with jeremy for months." damon said.
"why do you say it with a mocking tone?" may asked coming back downstairs after she found a room.
"you killed him, didn't you?" stefan asked.
"tyler? no. jeremy once, but are we really bringing that up right now?" damon said.
"the heretic malcolm. lily came by earlier. she found him in the town square without a heart." stefan said.
"what?" may asked knowing this would change their deal.
"oh, did she want that back? i mean, i think i packed it somewhere, all right?" damon said looking through his bags.
"what the hell, damon." may said.
"you know, lily and i had a deal." stefan reminded damon.
"a bad deal." damon said.
"she took caroline." stefan said making both damon and may look at him.
"what?" the two of them said at the same time.
"to retaliate for breaking our bad deal, she took caroline." stefan explained.
"but you weren't the one that did it." damon said.
"yeah, i know i wasn't. you were, which is why you are gonna go over there and you're gonna fix it." stefan said.
damon groaned but then he left to go speak to his mother.
stefan looked over at may and he remembered what caroline excitedly told him the night before.
"so, a little birdie told me you and enzo kissed." stefan said making may roll her eyes.
"i guess caroline saw us... yeah, we kissed. i just- i'm not sure what to say." may said.
may wasn't used to the whole feelings and romantic thing but she knew she felt something.
"just tell him how you feel." stefan said.
"well, maybe we should work on saving caroline first." may said with a chuckle.
"listen, this is damon's mess. we'll get caroline back, go talk to him." stefan said convincing her to go.
"fine, but if anything happens to caroline, call me." may said before she grabbed her phone off the couch.
"don't worry so much." stefan said before may walked out of the house.
she texted enzo to meet her in the park where they kissed. she sat on a bench and waited for him. he replied to her text that he was on his way and after a few minutes, she noticed he had vamped to the bench.
he was now sitting beside her and she felt her heart skip a beat with how close he was to her. for some reason he made her nervous but not in a bad way.
"to what do i owe this pleasure?" enzo asked her with a smile.
"i just wanted to talk... about yesterday." may said as they locked eyes.
"why talk." enzo said before brushing the hair away from her face.
before he could lean in to kiss her, may stood up from the bench and he looked up at her.
"i'm serious, enzo. i'm just- i'm scared." may said as enzo stood up.
"of what?" enzo asked her.
"i'm scared i'm going to hurt you in the end." may whispers, not knowing what else to say anymore.
enzo didn't even blink, before taking a step closer to her.
"then hurt me. destroy me. rip me to bloody shreds. if it's you doing it, then i don't give a damn, gorgeous." enzo said before cupping her face.
may pulled him by the collar of his jacket and smashed their lips together. enzo's hands made their way to her waist and they vamped over to the woods nearby, may's back smashed into a tree.
enzo started to kiss her neck and she let out a soft moan. she pulled his face back up to hers before she leaped into him. he held her up by her thighs.
they somehow ended up back at his place and they had sex. it was everything the two of them had been craving. after their hot vampire sex, may had fallen asleep.
she finally woke up to the sound of the guitar. she grabbed enzo's shirt that was lying on the floor and she walked over to his living room.
he was sitting by the fire, his back turned to her, strumming on the guitar. he finally turned his head when she sat next to him.
"you once asked me what my favorite feeling was. it has taken me a long time but i finally have an answer. it is when i was first awoken after the compulsion wore off. during the first few moments everything was different about this world. all of my past regrets, my worries for the future, everything. my mind is still in a state of processing. so that feeling of nothingness whilst still believing as if the memories is my reality. even if it lasts for a split second." enzo said as they locked eyes.
"i'm not sure what to say." may said as he smiled.
"you don't have to say a word, i'm just happy you're here to hear what i'm saying. i spent years dreaming of telling you these things." enzo said.
"it was real wasn't it... you and me... such a long time ago we were just a couple of kids but we really loved each other, didn't we..." may said as enzo nodded his head with a smile on his face.
"and now?" enzo asked her locking eyes.
"now... i'm figuring things out and i'm hoping you can respect that. i had been trying to pick up where we left off but i think that's the wrong approach." may said while enzo nodded, listening to her.
"i'm a patient man, ill be here when you're ready." enzo said placing his hand on top of hers.
may knew she wanted enzo in her life, they had just slept together and she didn't intend on letting him go. she just needed to figure out how to be in love, she wasn't used to these feelings.
