❀ Mia ❀
I woke up to the sound of soft breathing and cologne filling my nose. Ares still had his arm around me and was fast asleep.
I gently moved his arm, not trying to wake him up.
I started to walk to the door when his deep and raspy voice spoke from the bed, "Why are you up so early?"
I turned around and pointed at the clock, "It's 11:30."
He pushed himself up on his elbows, his brown hair messed up. He told me, "You were talking in your sleep last night."
My eyes widened.
He noticed this and went, "You were saying how hot you thought I was."
My jaw dropped. He continued to look at me seriously, waiting for my response.
"You also said you were in love with me," he continued, this time the sarcasm in his voice showing.
I rolled my eyes and picked up a pillow, throwing it at him. He caught it, and I turned on my heels to go downstairs. He yelled out to me, "You aren't denying it, Mia!"
"Suck my dick!" I yelled back while I headed down the hallway.
I heard a laugh come from him, making me stop in my tracks. For the first time since I met him, he finally laughed. A small smile formed on my face.
He has a nice laugh.
I walked into his kitchen and took a seat on the kitchen stool.
He followed me in a few minutes later, leaning against the counter across from me. His hair was still messy and his shirt was still off. Lots of tattoos and a chain around his neck.
He forced a fake smile at me, "Good morning Mia."
"Do you have any tea?"
"Hell no. Who drinks tea?"
"I do."
"I thought you drank coffee?"
"I drink both," I shrugged.
He rolled his eyes. He made some coffee for him and me, walking over to me and placing the cup in front of me. Instead of walking back around the counter, he leaned in and whispered in my ear, "You may not think that I'm hot, but I sure as hell think you're magnificent."
I was quick to say with goosebumps forming on my skin, "I never said that I don't think you're hot."
My eyes widened. Amusement flickered in his eyes, and I added, "Never said that I think you are either."
But I do.
He nodded, walking back around the counter.
I stared at him. I wanted to know more about him, but he still had a wall up. He didn't want to talk about something with his family, or there was something that he didn't want me to know. And I didn't want to push him, but I wanted to learn more about him.
"Ares?"
"Yes?"
"How come you don't like sharing things about yourself?"
My question made him meet my eyes.
"I don't like to be vulnerable," he replied.
I stood up, walking over to be right in front of him. I looked up at him, "Sometimes, being vulnerable is a good thing."
His face softened for a moment, his brown eyes staring into mine.
"I've learned always to be strong. Never trust anyone, never get close to anyone," he started to share. "You can never be betrayed if you never trust."
