Kelson's Beach House, Emerald Isle, NC, around 5:40 am
POV: Narrator
Davey and Kelson slowly approached the french doors into his Beach house like usual, and they were both immediately greeted by Jake. All three of them hugged. "Davey, I love your bed so much. That was the best sleep I'd ever had in a good couple of years!" Jake exclamated. "Glad you like it." Davey said. "Okay, here's the plan." Kelson began. "I'll get you back to your place at 6:00 am when all the Newsies wakes up, which means Spot can't do anything to you. His memory got wiped out when he took that hit, so he doesn't recall that last confrontation with you had with him before you went to talk with us in the jacuzzi tub. Just play it cool, alright? I will try to keep you safe from him." Kelson said. "Alright. Does Mary know about any of this?" Davey asked. "It'd be best if she didn't, but don't worry, she will wake up long after you are gone. So far, she just thinks some guy is jealous of you, that's all. While we wait, why don't we try and get that noise complaint filed?" Kelson said. "Sure, you got a laptop I can use?"
Around 6:00 am
"There. Officially filed. Now, all we gotta do is just present it to the court, make our statements, and you will soon get your compensation from the crying baby." Davey said. Kelson hugged Davey tightly. "Thanks so much. And, just in the nick of time! It's time to get you back." he said. "Because of all that you've done for me, I'll take you back." Kelson offered. "No, please. I'm fine going back by myself." Davey insisted. "Please, I have to do something in return for you." "It's fine, really. If anything happens to me, you won't be responsible." "Alright then, see you later today at mass." Kelson and Jake waved as Davey left to go back to the Beach house.
Davey approached the main deck and proceeded to walk through the french doors. "Dave, where's you been? We hardly see ya anymore." Jack said as he walked in. "I like to take time to go outside and go for morning walks." Davey responded, hoping his excuse would work. "Come join us for breakfast, we's gonna go to mass today at the church we usually go to, and then we'll meet up with Kelson after that." "That's weird, I saw Davey last night going outside. Huh, I don't remember what he did after that..." Spot said. Davey smiled, that's where Spot's memory had been wiped out! "What the hell are you talkin' about Spot, you're delusional! Why have you been housesittin' Dave so much lately?! Just cool it!" Jack said in defense of Davey. Spot grew angry as his plan was not working out.
After breakfast, Spot apprehended Davey privately once again. "I know you'se hiding something from me. You better tell me or someone's gonna get hurt." "Fine. I went over to Kelson's again last night, and in his exchange for his support, I offered to help settle the noise complaint filed against the baby next door. Not the parents, the baby. Kelson was very specific about that." Davey responded. "A'right, fine. I'll stop bothering you. But someone's gonna have to pay for it." "I won't let you." "We'll see about that." Spot walked away.
Around 8:15 am
Everyone was all dressed and ready for church. Once everyone was at the side door downstairs, they all went out to the garage to load into the Newsiemobile. "A'right, is everyone ready?" Jack asked to the Newsies. They all responded "yes" in agreement. The Newsiemobile pulled out of the driveway, and soon was headed on the bridge that went off the Isle into Cedar Point and into Swansboro. After a few minutes of traveling down on the same road, they came across the modern figure of the church in the middle of a large patch of land after traveling through the neighborhoods on the main highway. They pulled into the paved driveway and proceeded to park. Racetrack looked over and noticed another parking lot that was dirt and not paved. "Ew, a dirt parking lot. Not for us though." He said. "Shut up." Skittery said in annoyance. They all exited the Newsiemobile one by one and walked to the church in a large group. "Kelson, where are you..." Davey mouthed to himself. Spot noticed and glared at him. They all walked into the church together and Jack held the door open for everyone.
