It was mesmerising how things happened, how people can do such harmful things. It was painful really.
Meredith spent her 5 days on the psych ward, she confessed a lot. Her counsellors were surprised as the trauma. She had been open and honest although the had night terrors one night as the power went off. In that case they did result in calling Lexie up to help her as it was scary.
She had spoke about positives and important things not just sadness. She had spoke about Lexie,Thatcher,Susan, Cristina, Derek. She was on antidepressants and sleeping medication as well as anxiety medication.
She would have weekly therapy sessions in hope to gain control of herself and feelings again.
It was her first night home, of which Lexie had to work the night shift. Meredith didn't want to admit her fear of being alone so she smiled, she nodded and acted okay, she had been discharged that morning luckily avoiding people. She didn't want to talk about what happened, she didn't want them to see her that away ever again yet she understood the importance of communication.
Her evening was going okay for a while, she was in her pyjamas, her hair down. Settled on the sofa. It wasn't until the unexpected storm hit she began to panic. She began to freeze up and having feelings of anxiety. To make it all worse the power cut. Causing her to cry out.
Grabbing her bag she left, locking the door to the house she ran into the storm. Instantly soaking she ran a while before settling, curling into a ball under the rain as she cried.
Derek on the other hand had just finished tidying his trailer after a 12 hours shift. He had changed his sheets, cleared up and fitted a television on a bracket in his room. He didn't think it would fit, however it did. Making his trailer feel more homely to him,
When the storm hit he had just left his trailer and began to drive to the local takeaway shop for a pizza.
It was of course hard to drive in but he wanted his pizza, it was fair to say he was starving. He had ordered 2 large pizzas, 2 small pizzas, fries, onion rings, chicken bites, cookies and coke. He wouldn't of course eat it all. His left over pizza would be his breakfasts for the weak.
He grabbed his order, becoming drenched along the way. He placed it in his back seat before sitting down for a moment. Thinking of Meredith. She would be returning to work in 2 weeks. Lexie had always updated everyone on her but she would tell Derek and Mark every detail. She would give them the further details.
He knew she had been doing well which made him happy, it made him smile. She bought so much happiness into his life. Before he felt suffocated, but Meredith she was like the coming out for air, coming out from under that pillow for a breathe.
Looking in his back mirror he couldn't help but notice something, either a body or someone injured on a small bench across the road. He sighed to himself and his pizza. He stepped out of his car the rain beating him. He found himself running over. But once he was there he recognised her. The hair, the bracelet.
"Meri"He frowned. The hunched woman looked up.
"Doctor Shepherd"She whimpered, her lip quavering.
"Hey come here"He offered his hand. She sat up. Freezing. "Let me take you home" he offered but she shook her head rapidly. "Why not"His voice was so gentle, so soft.
"Power gone, its loud and scary i just.. Lex is at work i"She stuttered, he placed his finger lightly against her lips.
"Come back to my trailer, please. I have pizza and netflix, and that disney thing everyone has these days"He smiled. She nodded gently taking his hand as he walked her over to his car.
